I have spent most of my life trying to lose weight, thinking about every morsel of food that goes into my mouth and whether it is a "good" or "bad" food, thinking and looking at all the "skinny" clothes (from 15 years ago) that are in my closet. Once I discovered Sparkpeople, I knew that it was time:

For a change in attitude!
To take control and take action!
To make myself my #1 priority to get healthy!
To set some goals and accomplish them!

Before joining Sparkpeople, I felt overwhelmed knowing that I need to lose 50 pounds but I try to remember that "overwhelm is just a feeling, not a predictor of success". I know that I can be successful using Sparkpeople. It is a great tool to not only help me track my food intake and exercise but to inspire and motivate me. I know I will be successful this time!

Fitness Minutes: 31,600

My Goals:
1. Get moving every day - at least 30 minutes!
2. Eat right, eat smart.
3. Record everything - what I eat, what I do, and how I feel.

My Program:
I've been exercising regularly so it has become a habit. Now on the days that I don't have time to exercise, I don't feel as good or as energetic. Since I love to cook, I've been trying to adapt my favorite recipes to be lower fat and lower calorie.

Personal Information:
I'm 59 years old, from the Boston area, happily married to my soul mate for 13 years, and a "Mom" to 4 very furry Himalayan cats. I love boating on Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island, love to cook and traveling.
