It's been almost 10 years since I have been fighting the good fight. I got back on track in October 2010. I've succeeded with a 30 lb weight loss. But I want to ultimately get back to where my weight was when I first moved to KY. My ultimate goal is to get down to about 140 lbs and maintain it. I am now in my 40's and I have to get a handle on my weight because of the health issues that plague both sides of my family. It is time to get back on track and stay there for good. Wish me luck!

I forgot to tell my brain that I have a weight problem.

My name is Desrie. I have been overweight my whole entire life, but I have always enjoyed exercising in one form or another. I was even a step aerobics instructor.....that's how I got my username. Even though I loved exercising I loved eating even more, and just kept gaining and gaining. In January 2002, I started Weight Watchers at 203 pounds. By August 2003 I was down to 152 pounds and was so proud of my accomplishments. By the summer of 2004 I got lazy and began to eat whatever I wanted. I also got lazy with my workouts. Those two things combined, the weight came back.....DRATS!!!!! How did I let myself go?

Well, it's been two years that I have been on Sparkpeople and I'm no closer to my goal than I was two years ago. I keep falling off. So, every time I fall off, I just get up and dust myself off and keep going because I realize that not only do I want to get back into my old clothes, I really want to be proud of my accomplishment in my weight control.

My life has changed over the past few years and I 've had to make adjustments to my spending habits, but my reward is still the same.....I want those Manolo Blahniks!

My Goals:
*I currently want to get back into my clothes that fit me comfortably a year and a half ago. Then I want to meet my goal I set for myself 3 years ago.

I turned 40 this past May. I didn't make my goal of running a marathon because I was completely out of shape. I do plan on getting back into shape, and hopefully I'll try my hand at a min first. Fingers crossed!

My Program:
Cardio 5x a week
Maintaining 1300 - 1800 calories a day
Drinking plenty of water
