Hey guys, my name is Kim and I am on a lifestyle overhaul.
Thinking back when I first joined SparkPeople (My username was rosenrot back then), I think that the main reason I wasn't able to stick to my plan was because I only wanted it for weight loss and I always found excuses, not to eat well, not to exercise (not saying I still don't make excuses because I still do, it's harder than it looks.) Thinking back when I first joined SparkPeople (My username was rosenrot back then), I think that the main reason I wasn't able to stick to my plan was because I only wanted it for weight loss and I always found excuses, not to eat well, not to exercise (not saying I still don't make excuses because I still do, it's harder than it looks.) I logged all my food intake, I even logged in gym time, but after a while, I went back to my old ways.
I joined August 2008, weighing 150 lbs. I rejoined (new username and all) January 4 2009, and I weighed 164lbs.
2009 is a start for me, because I've had enough. I really want to do this the right way, for myself, not as a simple weight loss plan either but an overhaul of how I deal with food, with bad days, with disappointments and all these other things that really end up in making me feel worse about myself.
For background purposes, I was pretty heavy in high school, weighing at around 130 lbs, the heaviest normal BMI range for my height (5'1.) In college, my weight dropped to 120-115 lbs what with adjusting to hectic schedules. I started gaining ever since, putting me at 152 lbs (as of now.) Sure, I don't like it, but the same way the weight got there, the same way its gonna go.
I'm more realistic this time. I try to incorporate low calorie foods, less fat and oil in take and whenever I get the munchies, I buy the portion controlled sizes so I still get to eat what I crave and not go overboard. So far, this has been successful in preventing myself from binging. I am finding that by not buying or storing my trigger foods at home, I am better adept at keeping to my daily caloric range.
I am a Turbo Jammer and I also have Jillian Michaels on DVD that I have yet to try. I want to do pilates but it kinda intimidates me, the same for yoga. But hey, since I have all these videos, I might as well try em all, intimidated or not. :D
