It has to change, my health situation. In 2016 my pain was constant, just achy all the time I hurt to be touched but it was not fibromyalgia. I do have spina bifida occulta and have had my lower back fused because of the birth defect but that wasn't the pain issue. My abdominal hurt a lot, turned out my liver and spleen were enlarged. My lymph nodes enlarged, swelling all through body, no energy, drained, and my rosacea so flared nothing fabric wise could touch my face but micro fleece.

Seen family doctor whom looked at me did all the blood work he could think of to find nothing. My sugar numbers good, cholesterol good, blood pressure just fine, all organs seemed to be functioning as they should. Nothing as to what is going on in my body.

I was even sent to Duke, the infectious diseases department, they found nothing. Cancer was a concern did pet scan and showed activity in face... duh the rosacea was so bad my cheeks were puffed like a chipmunk. Was referred to ear, nose, and throat specialist and dermatology... guess what NOTHING FOUND. But my face was still puffed, red, swollen, and my body hurt so bad in every joint I regularly felt like crying.

The swelling in my whole body would put 20+ lbs on me and then 2-3 days it would drop off. Exhausting having the yo yo effect of such weight... yet the physician assistant looked at me and said , your consuming too much salt thus retaining water. ?!?! excuse me!!! I am an avid salt avoider and the family doctor knew this, in fact he had told me a few years back add a pinch of salt to one meal for my sodium level was on the verge of being too low.

After hearing the physician assist, killing my honda from all the mileage to see doctors, Duke was a 6 hour drive there and 6 back, and getting no relief nor help I quit seeing the doctors. Literally wrote a post on fb with a person throwing his hands up and walking into water until he was gone. I told my family and friends I quit with doctors I am surrendering all to God and let him show me what to do.

So, what did the doctors discover over a year of on going tests? Fatty liver, inflammation markers were high, and insulin resistance but no diabetes. They found the problem but no one seen it nor pointed it out. Yes, I had a doctor state I needed metformin for insulin resistance. Medication is never the answer it is the bandage slapped on the problem.

I spent the last year studying the three issues noted and now I have my DIET PLAN. This is me putting it into action for the new year and hopefully seeing results.Appreciate any encouragement for the journey and feed back as to what you have witnessed.

My Goals:
Lose 30+ pounds in 8 months

My Program:
Literally my BABY STEPS IDEA, Intermediate Fasting, a three day fast after 2 Short fast days then every other day rotation eat/ fast 24 hrs. Water, bone, chicken, beef broth coffee substitute, herbal teas at night and mid day.

Personal Information:
335 pounds, 5'5" widow with 2 teens

Other Information:
I firmly feel insulin resistance has been my problem since 2010 and the doctor failed to see the signs or never explained it to me. You cannot lose weight if you cannot control the resistance issue. All those failed years was not lacked effort on my part but rather lacked appropriate medical information. I needed told of the problem and not medicated but educated how to reverse the resistance... of which no doctor has ever done in the past 7 years of seeing them. I have now educated myself and am willing to try for a better tomorrow for me and my family.

    My heart breaks for you. I understand in a way. I have had inflammation and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. But back in 2016 I decided to go see a nutritionist to see what I could do. Basically I eat organic when I can, that includes any type of protein such as: beef, chicken, fish, shellfish. and eggs. Then I also eat the veggies and fruits. But I stay away from the processed foods. Also no legumes as they have lectins in them which will create a leaky gut. That's basically how most people end up with autoimmune disease. You might want to check out the book The Autoimmune Disease by Dr. Amy Myer. She also wrote The Thyroid Connection. She highly advocates natural. She develop the AIP, Autoimmune Protocol. She is also on face book. You might want to check her out. Many have been helped by her. I stay away from all bread but sourdough which is easily digestible, but then only that one in a great while. I do eat boiled white potatoes, baked sweet potatoes. That's important to get the magnesium in you. Like you said, diet plays an important part in your health, especially with inflammation. If you have good insurance, it would pay to see an good nutritionist one that can help you with your diet. They are worth every penny. Mine took clippings of my hair and sent it away for analysis. I knew I was close to adrenal gland fatigue. Adrenal glands need vitamin C to function, and vitamin C is not store in the body. When a person is under a lot of stress, the adrenal glands put out a lot of cortisone to deal with the stress. But sometimes the adrenal glands will not stop making cortisone when it is no longer needed. Therein lies part of the inflammation problem. So I make sure that I drink diluted orange juice everyday. (No I am not a diabetic.) But I do take vitamins. Vitamin E which is Tri-En-All 400 by Douglas Labs. It's better than fish oil per nutritionist due to the fact most fish oil caps are made from fish skin which picks up the toxins from the ocean on its skin. Vitamin E will help with inflammation. I also take Magnesium if I don't eat the boiled white potatoes or bake sweet potatoes every day. And if I don't take the magnesium, will soak my feet in Epsom salt and baking soda, or take a soaking bath in it for about 20 minutes. This will help as well; especially good for sleeping well at night. If you do the soak for either the feet or the bath, be sure to rinse off well with water. I hope this helps. Blessings to you.
