Who else out there living in China, surrounded by lovely people who are NOT obese, walking all over, climbing stairs like crazy--but not losing weight? I would love to have a partner in figuring out the calories of totally from scratch food at home, or impossibly oily stuff in restaurants. How do YOU cope with it? We can achieve our goals, but it sure is nice to have someone to battle through it all with! 2018: Posting this to Spark People got zero response. I asked other overweight foreigners in China to join me in the battle, zero response. I asked my counselor to help me with accountability, but I could always easily get her off-topic. So now I’ve moved back to US, just finished a huge remodel, and have lifted my head again—Now what? How will I become a healthier, more connected me? It won’t be via the internet, sitting around reading strangers’ newsy bits. It won’t be by expecting others to keep me motivated and not taking full responsibility for that myself. It WILL happen this year, slow and steady-ish, because I will take hold of reality and DO what it takes. Because I want freedom.

My Goals:
In January, I will focus on exercise. This is a month to start changing shape. As I gain fitness, I know my motivation to eat better and exercise even more will increase! Time for change!

My Program:
Walking and stair-climbing are my main forms of exercise. I will add some of the great SparkPeople exercises too.

Personal Information:
I moved to China 7 years ago and LOVE it here! Being able to speak Chinese is a big help in adjusting to the new, big-city lifestyle.
