Welcome to my Sparkpage!

It''s been a long time since I have been here, but I find Sparkpeople so motivational that I know I need it for my next step. Since I was last here in 2011, I have lost weight, gained weight, got married, had two childen (18 months and 1 month old as I write this), and am still searching for the job of my dreams.

I hit my highest non-pregnant weight just before getting pregnant with my first son, Drake. I weighed 280 pounds. I gained about 20 pounds while pregnant, but shortly after giving birth, I was back to 280. I was also diagnosed with PCOS, and my need to lose weight became about my health and future fertility. I lost about 20 pounds using Eat to Live as a guide before becoming pregnant with my second son, Devin, and once again gained about 20 pounds while pregnant A few days after giving birth, I weighed myself and was happy to see that I was at 252 pounds.

I still have a long way to go as I try to get in the 170s, and just as long towards my goal of becoming stronger and more energetic. I plan to continue to use Eat to Live as a guideline for my eating, but will also be restricting calories to about 1600 daily with one free day per week. As for exercise, that will come in time as my body heals from the pregnancy and as my sons become a little more independant.

Goal Weights:
#1 239 - 5% body weight lost Reward: New Jeans

#2 226 - 10% body weight lost

#3 212 - half way there

#4 192 - in the 100s! 3/4 to goal

#5 189 - 25% body weight lost

#6 172 - Healthy weight!!


My Program:
I am using the ideas found in the book Eat to Live to guide my food choices. I am restricting my calories to 1600 per day except for one day a week - my free day. That's it for now!



Personal Information:
I live in upstate NY with my husband Damian and sons Drake (18 mos) and Devin (5 weeks). My husband works full time and is going to school full time while I work part time and take care of our little dudes. We have a very full life!

    Thanks for the comment on my blog. I love the idea of writing 200 words. You're right, that doesnt sound so overwhelming and might help me to focus more fully on some of the things I want to work on through journalling. Great idea!
