Introduction Text HI! My name is Tammy. I am 51yo and happily married to Ben. We have 2 kids, 14 and 11 and 1 very active dog. My parents were both diagnosed with health problems in their 50's: high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. As I am approached that decade, I realized that I needed to do something to prevent those health problems in my future. I want to be able to continue to enjoy my life and spend time doing fun stuff with my husband and kids.

I would like to lose 50-80 more pounds. I am already down 35 pounds from my all time high. I need to work on increasing my fitness level. ( As my 10yo told me - You need to be able to run Mom, if you have too! In a zombie apocolypse (sp?) you would be toast!)

I have been working on losing weight for a long time - sort of haphazardly. I go down - then up a little. I do good for a while, then I maintain mostly. It has been an extremely slow process. I am just finishing a 6 week quick start program available in my area. Today is my 6 week weigh in. I have been using their products to help break some food addictions and reset my mind and body to realize that smaller amounts of food every 3-4 hours is the way to go. Today I start the transitional phase where I start incorporating real food back into the equation. My counselor has recommended using a tracking program and here I am. I have signed up here previously but didn't do a good job at the time in visiting the site on a regular basis. I have learned over the last 6 weeks that I can do things that I would never have thought that I could do. So watch out Sparkpeople and new friends, here I come!
