Welcome to my Spark page. I am 64 years old and a retired speciaI education teacher (non categorical preschool).
My husband and I have a 4 year old rescue beagle named Buster. He is a bundle of energy and makes us laugh. He has eerily similar traits that we saw in our last 2 rescue beagles. He's very sweet and lots of fun for us.
Our daughter, husband and her 3 children (my adorable grandchildren) live about 25 minutes from us. They also have an old rescue beagle. I am so fortunate to see them a lot. They are my sunshine!!
Our son is married to a great woman. They have his rescue beagle (see a pattern in our family?) and her two cats. They live about 25 minutes from us also (in the opposite direction!)
I joined Spark in December 2009 and, like everyone, life has thrown me some curves as well as blessed me in many ways! Although I struggle with consistency, my main struggle seems to always be with exercise. It seems I do fine for awhile and then I get off track. I always go back to the basics but it does get discouraging.
I'm trying to focus on being a healthy me with the energy to have fun with my family!

Hey there sweetie - how are you doing on this rain rain rainy day?

Thanks for the bloglove. I think last week was the best week yet - I'm working now on eating more slowly - taking smaller bites - chewing my food a little longer. At the pace I'm going I think I'll be back in my comfortable clothes by Christmas.

Me time, HA! It was wishful thinking. I have been on the move since I got up at 4:45am to feed these spoiled cats and husband. emoticon emoticon
Power walk, belly dance and this hybrid strength training, yoga, and cardio video that was an hour long ensured I wasn't getting back in bed. I colored my hair, cleaned the kitchen and my room. Now I am off to get ready for the week with the grocery shopping and veggie choppin.

I lost a few pounds so I am more motivated than ever emoticon emoticon

    Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Thank you for the kind and supportive comment you left on my SparkPage. One of the blessings of this site is you never know when you'll find a kindred spirit. I hope your scale starts to nudge down again -- I am certainly familiar with long-term plateaus, and I tell myself that just means I won't struggle with maintenance. (Also: I had to laugh at the mention of Pahla B.'s giggling -- yep, so distracting.)

Hey girlfriend. Thanks for the bloglove. I do like the WW plan and I'm feeling so comfortable with it now. I'm also aware that there were just so many times when I'd have "a little taste" "a little bite" and eventually those things added up to scary weight. It actually feels good to be back within the WW limits. Already some of the tight clothes are fitting again. whew.
