#BeforeAndAfter long time ago. My highest weight was 275 and 250 when I joined Sparkpeople. Regretfully, I took many breaks from this great program, but keep coming back. This time I hope to stay for good.

Hi, my real name is Sabine. My mom always called me "Bienke" and I missed that. I joined Sparkpeople shortly before the 2nd anniversary of her death and I was sad. Losing weight has been a life long struggle for me. Most of my family was and still is big. As a child I was not allowed to leave the table unless my plate was clean. Little did my parents know that this would lead to a struggle with weight for the rest of my life. My parents showed their love with food because they did not know any better. I had my knees replaced in 2008 and 2009 but now arthritis and RA have moved to my feet which makes walking hard. I can do only short stretches and have to concentrate on other forms of exercise. I had 3 foot operations the end of August 2016 until June 2017 and couldn't put weight on them for most of the time. It is deep water aerobics for me at this point of my life. I'm still having difficulties walking or exercises that require stretching/bending my feet/toes.

My Goals:
Ever since I joined SP I have lost over 50 pounds, not counting the ups and downs.

I will not give up and reach my goal of 150 lbs eventually.

My Program:
I take pictures of the food I eat on my phone when I can't track it right away.

I don't have a set exercise program because arthritis will not always let me do what I want to do. I like going on walks, water aerobics and yoga.

Personal Information:
I retired in March 2017 and have to deal with this new change in my life.

Hallo Bienke, Ideally this would be a good time to change. My boss believes that he is the only one who knows how things should be done. We as a team just spend 4 months working out the methodology for some initiatives we need to implement. He wasn't even going to listen to us, but - once again - through a Harvard Business Review article at us. One from 2012 and said this is how he wants it done. Then when we talked, it turns out, he wants his own version done. He says he wants Agile, but has not understood Agile means he needs to allow his Senior Managers to make decisions. And in the article actually the entire initiative is being handled by the team and Senior Management and Directors have no influence whatsoever. It is really hard to work under someone who keeps changing how he wants to approach it depending on what article he has read. It is never a discussion, always an order. No idea why he bothers to employ experienced people
However I am on a bond (long story and clear discrimination), which does not allow me to leave at this point. I will leave once the bond amount is down to about 1 month salary. Meanwhile I am still hoping that the permanent residence will finally be approved. Every time we go into stricter Covid restriction that department of Immigration stops working more or less...... Once I have the permanent residence I no longer need costly work permits that bind me to the employer and changing jobs will be easier, but I will also be able to build up my own consultancy.
