Hi...I've been struggling with my weight and binge eating for several years. I'm always on a diet or breaking my diet--never just eating for health and hunger. I want to change things and finally be at peace...to eat for health and be at a normal weight in a fit body I can be proud of.

I have lost weight several times over my life but never have stayed at goal weight longer than a few weeks. Now I'd like to just find a healthy weight that is manageable for me and to stop using food and alcohol as a form of entertainment or solace.

10/16/19..I am 14 pounds over goal and do not look like the photos I posted back in 2017. In fact I am 21 pounds more than those photos. I wonder if I should remove them b/c I feel like it's not represetnative of me? And yet, it shows what is possible.......


Update: 01/02/2017 - Well I never did get back to my goal that I hit for a split second in 2010. In fact, I steadily gained back the 30 I lost plus another 14 pounds. I started (AGAIN) in August of 2016 and I've been slowly losing since. I'm now 8 pounds from a new goal which is higher (yet more appropriate for me) than my other goal but I'm feeling pretty happy these days. It's nice to be moving in the right direction again.......

Fitness Minutes: 67,348

My Goals:
I would like to lose weight and be fit. More importantly, I'd like to feel comfortable in my own skin and proud of myself. (Well, I reached my goal weight and then I gained back 30 pounds...ugh). Now I've adjusted that weight and am hoping to hit my new and more realistic goal weight once again.

Run a 1/2 marathon (scheduled Nov. 7, 2010!) COMPLETED!!! :)

Obtain and maintain a healthy relationship with food. Stop yo-yo dieting....

Lol....have one size of clothes in my closet that fit from year to year instead of several different sizes I shuffle in between. Ok, let's make that one SMALL size of clothes I fit in from year to year.


My Program:
I'm basically starting over again today (Feb. 10, 2013) and my plan is to start slow but be consistent. Strength training 3 times a week and cardio 3 times a week/30 minutes each time

02/03/2017 - Going to Orangetheory Fitness 4-5 times a week and tracking my steps. I'm sticking to about 1200 calories a day except for Saturday nights where I allow myself a few drinks and some cheat-type food (i.e. pizza, thai food, or whatever sounds good). Working on being kind to myself. That's the hardest tool for me to implement......



Personal Information:
I'm only 5 ft 1 and 1/2.

I work and live in Southern California. I'm married and have two kids, a wonderful supportive husband and two dogs.

    Billie, thank you so much for reading my blog last week, and for your kind words. I think the Twilight Zone is a perfect way to describe what we are going through! Weird, bizarre, surreal, and all that. I know we'll make it through and hopefully emerge stronger and better, but there's no doubt we're living through a big change.

    Billie, I was so touched by your kind response to my blog about adopting Leda and Eleanora, who'll arrive at our house this coming Sunday. We're excited, and I share your hope that this will be a bright new chapter that will help lift my daughter's (and, to a lesser degree, my) depression. We are dog people, too! The loss of Joey still saddens us, but we are happy to be able to make another dog (or two) as happy and comfortable as we can. I'll be posting about them again.
