Introduction Text Need to keep up with grandkids. 02/11/11 Now I'm 36 pounds lighter since starting my weight loss journey on August 6, 2010; 24 of that since I joined Sparkpeople in late September, 2010. My six month goal was to lose 26 pounds by February 6 and I missed that by just 2 pounds. That's good enough for me. Now I've reset my ticker to show my starting weight with Sparkpeople and my goal weight which I hope to meet within the next six months. I'm slowing down my expectations in the hope that it will make it easier to maintain the new weight once I get there; and I'm trying really hard to make exercise part of my daily life. I've only been exercising since Jan. but I know I need to do it if I am going to maintain a good weight without "dieting". If my daughter and I reach our goals by August we are going to the Hershey Spa and bathe in chocolate!

My goal is keep off the weight that I will lose.

At present I am counting calories.

I lost 12.5 pounds before I found SparkPeople. I had laser gum surgery (Lanape) and was on 3 weeks of liquid/soft food beginning August 6. It was a great incentive to get me going on a weight loss plan. But I am so happy to have found this site, which is FREE. I am somewhat addicted to it.
