My name is Bettie Colley. I am 60 years of age. Due to type 2 diabetes, I suffer from many other medical problems: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, and other problems.

What I need is to learn to eat more healthy foods and to commit to exercising consistently. I have learned a great deal from SP about the affects certain food has on the body. This has been extremely helpful in shopping for food that will help me achieve my goal of a healthy body.

I have also learned various exercises that will help me strengthen my body. Without exercising I will never be able to get my medical problems under control.

I look forward to working with the SparkCoach to, hopefully, become more commited to my goals.

My Goals:
My major goal is to lose 56 pounds. I have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc. Losing weight will help me with all of these conditions. I need all of the support I can beg, borrow, or steal.

My Program:
I am starting again to get healthy. Sparkpeople appears to be one of the best website I have visited that give me the support I need. Setting the amount of calories, sodium, carbohydrates, etc. that should or should not be taken in on a daily basis is (as the kids say) the bomb(?).

My favorite author is Dean Koontz. My son does not like him because he writes too descriptive. I like him because he is the right amount of scary. Anything else you would like to tell people. Could include things like your favorite books or movies, a quote, anything.

    emoticon Fun Spring Holiday Workout emoticon

    1 Dye about 100 eggs, raw preferably, bright and bold colors. Eggs outdated by a few months or more work best. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    2 Go outside and bunny hop around the yard hiding the eggs. Squat to put each egg in place. emoticon

    3 Gather a few good natured friends or family members you don't particularly care for. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    4 On the count of 3, run to find the eggs. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    5 Upon reaching an egg, squat down to pick it up, stand, and pitch it at the closest opponent. Alternate arms to insure an equal work out on both sides. emoticon

    6 Repeat until all eggs are broken beyond re-throwing. emoticon

    7 Don't forget that cleaning (up) can be a workout in and of itself. emoticon

    And that is a wonderfully fit way to celebrate any spring holiday. Aren't you ready to hop to it?
