I haven't had a drop of soda in 4 months. I cut out almost all processed foods. Lean red meat only one day a week. Nearly 10 more pounds lost! 1,500 calories a day. 50% carbs, 30% healthy fats, and 20% proteins! If you couldn't already tell I'm super proud of myself for coming this far! I still have a ways to go before I reach 120 pounds but I'm confident that I'll reach it! #BeforeAndAfter

July 31, 2018, The road so far:
I'm three months into this journey and I've been consistently losing roughly 10 pounds a month.
My turning point was January 28, 2018. I took a tumble down the stairs in my house and managed to break my ankle. The kicker: it was only 2 steps. What truly broke my ankle that day was the full 220 lbs of my body weight coming down on top of that ankle as it was wedged between two steps.
Talk about a wake up call.
Before that, despite my weight, I had always been relatively healthy. Rarely sick, no medical conditions. Just fat. So before then I never truly felt the desperate need to lose weight. I can honestly say I'm grateful for that wake up call.

My Goals:
I started at 220 pounds, give or take. I fully intend to work at this until I reach my goal of 120 pounds. I don't care how long it takes. Only then will I be truly, totally satisfied.

My Program:
As of May 2018 been using Sparkpeople more faithfully than I ever have before. I can't say I track every single calorie but I do my best to track everything. I've been following their guidelines of 50% carbs, 30% healthy fats, and 20% proteins. And I try to stick to about 1,500 calories a day.
So far it's worked.

They say 90% of a weight loss happens in the kitchen and for me it's true.
However, I do go to the gym 5 days a week. Mostly cardio. But always 30 minutes max. Couple that with some light strength training (about 10-20 min.) and I've found myself feeling stronger and healthier.

Other Information:
If anyone takes the time to read all of this I hope it gives you even a drop of inspiration. Don't lose weight/get fit for anyone but yourself. Don't ever think yourself a failure because you slip up once and a while. Take as much time as you need. The important thing is that you do this for YOU. Only then will you truly be happy. Only then will you truly reach your goal!
