Saw a couple of your post, one on moving towards minimalist shoes. When I moved this direction I put my regular shoes on the back of my car and ran my short block (which is about .4 km) and then switched shoe. I did this for a while and then ran twice around it (about .8 km) and then after a while I moved up to 1.2 km. Once I had build up a bit of readiness in my body I then went around my long block (2.5 km) before the switch and so gradual over several months I switch up to all my running in less shoe.

I am also a Chi Runner, which is a running form based on the principles of Tai Chi, for energy efficiency and injury prevention. If you have a curiosity about it we have a team here at sparks.

I am 57 soon to be 58 and ran my last have last weekend with my Grand son. He did a 1:55 and I did a 2:16. I was slowed by having to remove gravel from my shoes three times, but am not entirely unhappy with my time. (I am not really a racer, but it gives me a chance to run a little with my oldest grandson so we do a few events each year. We did a three generation last year with his brother and his dad (my son).

Hi! I saw a friend of mine commented on your blog, and I see from your page you ran MCM '11! Congrats! I did was my first marathon. I totally remember running by that sign around Haines Point - too funny!!

Good luck in your running, and congrats on MCM!
