Feb 2021. I"m back at it again. Still not feeling 100% but on my way.
October 2020 Time to update.... about 6 months ago (blame it on Covid-19?) My scale started moving in the wrong direction. I had not changed the way that I ate, still low-carb/keto, good probably not being as active. I don’t know.
Then with the quarantine, then with the do-over of my shoulder replacement surgery, then the forest fires/evacuations, etc. Im up 8 pounds.... technically still ...

Then with the quarantine, then with the do-over of my shoulder replacement surgery, then the forest fires/evacuations, etc. Im up 8 pounds.... technically still in maintenance, but closer than I wanted to ever be.
Part of the deal is finding a healthier way to eat, low carb, without so much fat, and more freggies. Having been a vegetarian for 25+ years, I really miss the fresh fruits and vegetables. (Can’t believe I’ve missed out on two Summers of ripe fruit season!)
Well, I’m out to discover my “new normal” without tossing the baby out with the bath water....
====
Since beginning my SparkJourney in 2012, I've been doing the yoyo.... down and up, up and down, mostly up, up, up, again.
.... December 2018 I hit my all time high weight. That's when I started low carb (Keto, if you will, though I do not track the macros, etc.) My aim was and is 20 net carbs each day.
.... The target weight given by my Primary Care Physician seemed to mock me from miles away! But as the weeks and months ticked by, so did the pounds.
.... In September 2019, that seemingly-impossible-to-reach goal weight finally showed up when I stepped on my scale! And I've hovered below it ever since.
..... The secret to success, along with my awesome SparkFriends and Teams, has been replacing the stuff I loved to eat with low carb alternative recipe that satisfy my "must haves" like chocolate, pancakes, morning mocha, cakes, etc.
When I saw my Primary Care Physician in December 2019, he said my numbers (weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar) looked great . . . and so did I. Woohoo!
.... Now comes the rest-of-my-lifetime goal of maintaining. . . or maybe losing some more.
Feb 2020: Still on it, but Adjusting my food intake, not adding extra carbs, binging, etc., has also increased my calories.... and added a few extra pounds. Maintaining is a delicate balance. But I can do it!

I love living in the beautiful forested Siskiyou Mountains of Southern Oregon.
Married to my best friend. Still newlyweds after 10 years. We do everything together. God definitely saved the best for last.
I'm mom to three...yes, three! spunky Yorkshire Terriers (Yorkies) . . . one is 15 year old, 6 pounds of love and cuddles named Bad Leroy Brown; and 4 year old Buster Brown, who keeps us on our toes . . . and in stitches. And our newest addition “Charlie Brown” is 1.5 years old.... What a bunch of crazy characters!
They also push me to get outside. We have one fenced acre (inside the 5 acres) with paths around where we walk and romp. Every day.
I love making jewelry, especially copper and am learning metalsmithing, etching, wire working, etc. I have three Etsy shops.... CatManDoStudio and TheISawBigfootShop. Stop by and see if anything rings your bell.
Still hoping my shoulder issues are resolved so I can ride my motorcycle again!
Other Information:
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather skidding in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'WOW, what a ride!' "

The best is yet to come!
