Hi! My name is Shanna and I am a 26 year old Customer Service Rep in Newark, DE. I found SparkPeople searching online, and decided to join in hopes of finally losing the weight I want to lose with the help of others who have been there before.

I have a long way to go, and as you can tell from my page title, I'm not too terribly thrilled about the trip. But, I am going to give it my all, eat right, exercise, and with the support of the members here I hope to finally win this battle.

On a more personal note, I am engaged to the man of my dreams, and he and I plan to get married next spring. We have a 4 year old furry son together - a Boston Terrier named Jake (pictured to the left). I do plan to update the pictures to the left with pictures of myself as I lose weight.

In my spare time I create beautiful jewelry pieces out of chainmaille (the reason for the username). I do have a shop set up on Etsy, if anyone is interested in seeing it. The address is

My Goals:
My short term goals are:

- break my Mountain Dew addiction and replace it with an addiction to water
DONE! :)

- start an exercise routine that works for me

- learn to manage my stress more effectively

Long Term Goals:

- adopt a healthier lifestyle so that I may enjoy the rest of my years

- lose the weight once and for all and keep it off

- be fit and healthy for my wedding next year

My Program:
I'm basically using information I'm still gathering here to build a plan that will work for me and my lifestyle, based on my basal metabolic rate. This should allow me to safetly lose the weight I want to lose while not leaving me hungry all day.

I am incorporating exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 30mins at a time, starting off slowly and increasing as I go along.
