Clearly, I'm a Dr. Who fan; however, I think the words at the top of my page are a fitting tribute to my battle with food. Not weight. Food. Weight doesn't make me fat, food does. Thus, the Weeping Angels are a metaphor for food in my life (and really, for those in the Whoverse, is there anything truly scarier?). I have to stay vigilant and not blink or I'm a goner.

I believe vigilance is the key to this journey and complacency is the lock. (Wow, I'm just full of metaphors.) I never struggled with weight growing up. In fact, I was downright scrawny. It wasn't until my late 20's that I started having problems. Since then, I've been within 15 pounds of goal (numerous times, *sigh*), and start getting complacent. I'm sure in psychobabble this would be called "self-sabotage."

With all of this knowledge at my fingertips and years of analyzing my eating habits, triggers, etc., you'd think I'd have this thing down pat. Alas, not so much. So, here I am making my way in this world today, taking everything I've got (any Cheers fans out there?).

I need to refocus on me. Actually, I need to find a new motivation--clearly what worked a year and a half ago, isn't working now.

My Goals:
I'd love to get healthy without relying on willpower alone. It's so exhausting to stay focused (no blinking!). If someone knows the answer, please share. lol

I want... improve my 5K pace. workout AT LEAST 30 minutes 4 times a week. Obviously, more is great, but I want my minimum to be attainable. inner thighs to be enemies and never touch again. belly button to be shallow and not the abyss. skin and hair to glow with health.

    Yep, I did sign up as a BB coach and use the Chocolate Vegan Shakeology every day. It totally calms my cravings too! Today I didn't have it for breakfast and ended up with a headache. It went away almost instantly when I had my normal shake for lunch instead. VERY interesting! I love the Les Mills Combat so much that I haven't started T25 yet but I just don't jump as much or lift my knees as much with the high impact exercises and that's just fine with me. :)

    That's awesome that your cousin is a coach! And really cool that you're having success! :)

    Crap! I forgot to write you back. I'm so sorry. I had every intention of emailing you back but as I am sure you can imagine, with my upcoming wedding on Sat and having to have all my belongings packed up by Friday I have been running around like a crazy woman. There has just been no time. Sorry to leave you hanging like that. I would never purposely not write you back, even if it was just to say "super busy, will email you later." It just slipped my mind.

    I've been dangling on the edges myself. I don't know if we get caught in eddies or cast on shores or what the deal is, but it seems pretty common to go dim for a bit. But like you I'm getting my Spark on again and moving forward. I must be in shape for when The Doctor comes!

    I got my AFAA Group Instructor Certification so I can teach aerobic exercises. Well, if I had a class to teach! But we are being furloughed here in two weeks and I plan on using that time to work on some lesson plans so that IF an opportunity arises, I will be ready to strike!
