My name is Heather and I am 37 years old! I have two very active kids and a very bad back that tries to keep up! This program and hopefully subsequent weight loss is just for me; I want to feel good about myself and healthy!

*UPDATE FOR 2009*
Obviously with some health issues going the above statement about weight loss does not apply right now. My focus and New Year's Resolution that I made jointly with my honey is simply to become as healthy as we can be in 2009. I have to take care of myself and keep on top of things. I would love to begin back at the gym again; SLOWLY.... then maybe try to walk/run again. I rediscovered skiing; and while I am winded GOING DOWN one run, I realize it is something I do love to do. It will get me outdoors again and physically active.

*2008*
I am going to take my New Years resolutions and turn them into my MISSION STATEMENT:
"2008 will be my year for self-discovery and getting to know myself better. I will emphasize the positive aspects of my body and not focus on what I view as negative. Fitness will play an intregal part in my life; exercise and eating well are priorities that need to be included in my life EVERYDAY...not just when I feel like them. Training for and completing a half marathon are goals that WILL BE of utmost importance."

"even the slowest jog in the world is a jog and one step closer to the finish. "..... Thanks to my spark buddy ~KARA~ for saying that in response to one of my blogs...she is SOO right!

Fitness Minutes: 427

My Goals:
TO PUT POSITIVE PRESSURE ON MYSELF TO MAINTAIN MY HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! TO NOT WORRY ABOUT WHAT THE SCALE SAYS! To increase my running times and distances, stamina, strength and endurance! TO BUILD GORGEOUS MUSCLES!

Who doesn't want to feel comfortable in their own skin?!

My back has to be able to handle my body weight.

My Program:
I try to do cardio for at least 40 min. each day (I mix it up a lot.. don't want the bod to get too used to anything...running, elliptical, stepper, bike AND NOW TURBO JAM!). I am totally into strength training to increase my core stability to help support my back (plus I love the way my "new" arms and legs look). In addition, I've been trying to eat about 1400 to 1700 cal/day. Had to up the cals...I was starving! :-(

Personal Information:
Northwestern Ontario, Canada

Other Information:
Love photography, (photojournalistic style and the great outdoors), gardening, and traveling. Places I've been: Coast to Coast in Canada and the US, Bahamas, England, France and Spain. By the time I've grown up, I want to have been to every continent. (except Antarctica~cold~blech)
