My Journey
A journey is riddled with starts and stops. Sometimes we have to start over. But, starting over isn't really starting over. Its just re-evaluating where we've been and where we are going and making necessary changes. My journey here is about weight loss and more. its about where I've been and where I'm going as a person. (July, 2011)

My Goals:
I am working to lose weight and get back to what I had achieved here at Sparkpeople in 2008. My daily goals include:
1. Tracking my food and being conscious of my food choices and portions. Tracking does work.
2. Daily exercise. I walk, run, use DVDs.
3. Eat a healthy diet that includes fruit, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains.
4. Maintain my weight with the good habits I've developed over time.
Weight goals:
1. Get my weight in a normal BMI.
2. Feel good in my clothes.
3. Stay physically active by walking, running and other exercises.
My Program:
I lost 30 pounds on Sparkpeople in 2008. I don't deprive myself, but seek moderation in all things. I do what works for me and will adapt plans to fit my lifestyle.
I follow a combination of diets. I adapt plans to fit me and my needs. For healthy long term weight loss you have to make a plan work for you. Extreme diets and plans aren't healthy in the long run and can back fire in weight gain. I follow a moderate carb approach.
I weigh myself daily to monitor my progress.
Personal Information:
Summer 5% challenge: walk/jog everyday. 120 minutes or more and 20,000 steps.
As part of my 5% challenge I will be following the Sonoma Diet with other adaptions. I will continue to track my food and control portions.
I am an ordained minister. I currently work as a mental health therapist in an addictions agency.
