Morning friends, I am a retired science teacher/administrator of thirty-seven years. I love retirement and have no idea how I every had time to work. My husband of 5 years and I live on four acres where we raise on average 100 chickens, 3 cows, 5 pigs, 3 dogs, and 3 cats. We also garden, preserve food, and go as unprocessed as possible in our diet.

When we have spare time we volunteer with church, mission trips, and Red Cross disaster relief. We are very busy people.

I have one son and two granddaughters but raised two other children I consider my own (stepchildren). So, I really have 3 children and 6 grandchildren and 3 stepchildren. I know, confusing! LONG story too.

We are on a lifetime journey here at SparkPeople and I hope to get to know several of you! Have a blessed life!

Fitness Minutes: 14,326

My Goals:
I will lose a pound a week until I have a healthy weight.


My Program:
I will eat clean and healthy by eating veggies and fruits at each meal with at least 5 per day.
I will walk or do cardio at least 5 days a week.
I will do strength training at least 3 times a week.



Personal Information:
I am a retired teacher that lives and was raised in the smallest populated county in Tennessee, therefore, very rural. I am very active senior citizen. We do two vegetable gardens, one for us and one for the community at church. I have 150 chickens, care for my granddaughters 2 pigs, 16 guineas, 3 dogs, 3 cats. I weave baskets and teach 4 classes a month. I crochet, I love to read, I volunteer at church and Red Cross and love doing mission work. NOW, just need to get this body in shape so I can live longer to continue all these things!!

    Thanks for adding me as a Spark friend, and I have added you as well.
    I have walked off and on for years, but after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, it was very hard to get back into it. So when I started back here in January, I made "taking a walk everyday" one of my goals/streaks. That really helped me because once I got a number of days under my belt, I didn't want to break that streak! So, now I am at day 123 I think. I recommend using that tracking tool if you don't already! emoticon
