I'll just go into Columbine's kitchen while she's waiting in the car for me to leave!

My weight has been yo-yo-ing all my adult life! And I'm really tired of it! I want to walk into a room and not feel self-conscious about my weight. After a lifetime of selecting clothes to conceal myself, I want to wear pretty clothes, try new activities & grab more gusto!

Update: I've been with SP for almost 5 yr. Lost the weight in 6 months. Rode the roller coaster of up & down the scale. Finally I'm ignoring the scale , making good food choices & exercising at least 30 min. 6 days/week. Period.

Most important lesson learned: The bad habits that made me fat the first time (and the 128th time!) will make me fat again. This must be a permanent change in my life.

2013: After DH got a new knee & I returned to all my bad habits, I sat around & regained nearly all the weight I had lost.

Started over 3 weeks ago and am now on Day 20 of a streak of at least 30 min. of exercise 6 days/week. Feel better! Clothes fit better!

It's working...it always does. SP is the greatest! Just do it...and it feels soo great!

Nancy, thank your the goodie! Lovely flowers for my new house 💐We are moving bit by bit, several trips and the place needs a deep clean before we put our stuff in it. It is exciting to have our own placd again!
Are you still in Colorado? I saw it is still snowy where you live. I miss Colorado at times but not the February snows..

Nancy, I remember all the snow in Colorado! Good luck with all the shoveling, great exercise but it gets old in a hurry.. Hope your husband is doing well with his knee, the first weeks are the hardest. You will be glad to get to the beach after the cold winter. Brr, I don’t miss that at all and I am grateful for our years in Mexico.
Our move is getting closer (5 weeks) and I have had fun buying things for the house as we brought hardly anything with us. Living off the grid is going to be quite the learning curve.
Enjoy the rest of your time in Colorado and have a wonderful time in Paradise. It will be nice to get out of the snow!
    Hugs,

Thanks for stopping by and the update. Good luck with the snow!
We decided to move back to Europe last year and after sunny Mexico Spain made the most sense. We had been there in 2016 and loved it. So we sold, donated and dumped 30 years worth of stuff and moved early May 2019 with 2 suitcases each and shipped a pallet with 36 boxes (25% our daughter’s stuff). We are in a rented cottage and are in the process of buying a house in the country side, off the grid. A whole new adventure!
We were lucky to sell the house in Mexico and the Colorado property even if both at a reduced price but gone is gone. It was hard but very liberating to get rid of most of our belongings and starting from scratch.
I do miss certain things of the US, mostly the stores and conveniences. Spain is quite different but I am adjusting to new things. The best thing here is the quality and taste of the food! I find I can “get away” with eating things that were a problem before, even the odd piece of bread.
Our family is spread out over Holland, Denmark and England and it is nice to be so much closer and be in the same time zone (England only 1 hour behind)
    So there’s the saga...
Stay warm in beautiful Colorado and have a wonderful Christmas!
    Hugs,
    Lis

You're welcome! My support is unlimited!
I'm so glad that you found a tech who could help you out. My fitbit also counts the movements of my arms, especially when I am wedging clay! But I found that if you set it to "dominant arm" that really helped reduce those steps that aren't real. Also the recent software updates for the fitbit helped.
As far as not getting any credit, you ARE! You KNOW what you're doing and you know you're burning calories. So many people lose weight without the gadgets like fitbits. I rely on my 10 year old heart rate monitor and my fitbit just annoys me. It won't count any fitness minutes for me when I swim or dance and I don't know why. Instead of trying to figure it out I just use my reliable old HRM, and before I had THAT, I lost about 60 lbs with no devices at all.
Most of all, it boils down to what you believe. If you believe what you eat is going straight to your hips, it will. If you believe that what you are doing works, it will.

Can you "feel" my crabbiness? Your support gave me a boost & I sure appreciate your friendship. You're probably in deep snow, too? Thanks again for cheering me up & staying on track! (Crabby) Nancy
