I'm a wife and mum of two, with a fairly hectic job that varies between sitting glued to a desk for 8 hours at a time and going heavy, physical labour.

Many years ago I was obese, and I had an epiphany that I was missing out on so much in life. That epiphany led to a determination that I hadn't experienced before. After I gave birth to my first bub I went on to lose nearly 40kg.
I changed my job to something that requires fitness and being a healthy size. Despite this, I manged to gain back a few KG. Fell pregnant and had another bub, and after all was said and done I was sitting at 71kg.
I restarted on Spark again now that I've changed to a closer to clean eating way of life, I've managed to get to 65kg.

To this day, people who have met me after my weight loss can't believe that I was ever overweight and are shocked when they see pictures. It's because my life is SO different now that they can't honestly picture me any other way.

So every now and then I realise the KGs are sneaking back on again and that I'm going back to unhealthy ways of living. I pick myself up, dust myself off, and get back to normal and things sort themselves out.
I'm not dieting as such now. I try to stay within a certain caloric range but in general it will go up and down within that range. I don't eat to meet my range, I simply monitor what I have eaten.

But I'm walking proof that it IS possible to lose 50kg (110lbs!) and keep it off without starving yourself or feeling like you're missing out. I hope that people can see the achievements I have and work towards similar goals themselves :).

Fitness Minutes: 6,675

My Goals:
Run 2.4km in under 13 minutes at any time

Run 5km twice a week in 30 minutes or under

Run 10km once each weekend (not time limited... Yet!)

To run 21.1km. Otherwise known as a half marathon (This one is a long term goal) DEFINITELY not time limited.

*Old goals*

5km run - Achieved Feb 2011 (I'd never ran that far in my life before)

10km run - Achieved Dec 2011 (STILL can't believe I managed to achieve that!).

My Program:
I use Spark for calorie tracking and will be using c25k and then G210K once I'm running 5km twice a week at 30 minutes or under again.

    Thank you so much for your comment on my blog. I really was feeling so down on myself, but you are exactly right. I was giving myself too many rules. Thank you for basically taking control of my healthy-habits-gone-wrong, lol. I think I really will implement the things you posted. Thanks again; that was some spot on support, and I really needed it.

    Whoops, I forgot that I left a comment, lol. I've been combing the message boards trying to find like-minded people. I knew when you sent me that message that you're profile looked familiar! Haha. I am really happy to be chatting with you. I didn't know about you being a linguist before, and that is fantastic. And I am definitely looking forward to the family-like atmosphere and really just being part of an amazing group of people.

    Hey, I saw your post about how you joined the Air Force, and lost 80 lbs to do so. I need to lose about 65 before talking to a recruiter. I know you said you hated exercising--what were some of the things you did to achieve your goals? What do you do for the AF? Any words of wisdom for being a female in the military?
