I'm just finishing the first year of my PhD in art history, and the long hours, high pressure and stress have taken both a physical and emotional toll already. After a particularly intense few months while I was writing my transfer of status submission, the long sleepless nights filled with convenient junk foods have left me exhausted, half a stone heavier, and generally feeling terrible about myself. I want to get back into shape, lose my newly jiggly belly and bum, and gain some healthier eating habits... but most importantly, I want to start taking care of myself again and start my second year in a better physical, mental and emotional state. As a further incentive, I'm getting married this time next year to my amazing and supportive Kiwi fiance, and I would rather slowly and surely move toward good health and a positive self-image over the next year rather than desperately try to crash diet before the wedding!

Fitness Minutes: 5,249

My Goals:
-Adjust my eating and cooking habits to include more high-nutrient/low- calorie foods and less processed garbage
- Get to about 125lbs by August 13 2011, when my fiance and I head to Croatia
-Find a more regular routine that includes adequate amounts of sleep and exercise
-Lose 1-2 inches from waist and thighs
-Get to about 120lbs by the start of next semester


My Program:
- Pilates and/or strength training most mornings at home
- Walking or jogging (Couch to 5K program) 2-3 times a week by the beautiful river or University parks
-Playing squash with friends 2-3 times per week
-Walking everywhere, as usual
- Recording my food daily and maintaining calorie and nutritional goals



Personal Information:
I originally hail from the east coast of Canada, but am currently doing my doctorate in art theory at the University of Oxford and planning a 2012 wedding to my awesome Kiwi fiance.
