What a privilege it is to be part of SparkPeople! I have met a lot of nice & encouraging people, and I have had the chance to encourage also. The team spirit is really evident. What a joy it is to be a part of my teams (see below)

I grapple with the ups and downs of losing weight. It is mostly going down though - slowly. In that way I hope it sticks as I add some healthy habits to my life.

Fitness Minutes: 20,489

My Goals:
I need to lose 50+ lbs. in order to be healthy. Now that I have found this site I am motivated to eat healthy things. And then ... after that I would like to go on a beach vacation!


My Program:
.First I am concentrating on getting some healthy food habits. One thing at a time works for me!

Stretching everyday, usually 15 min.

Playing with my cat!

Slowly will work into a walking/cardio program. 4/16 - I am trying a 1-month gym membership

Cutting down on carbohydrates & sugar.



Personal Information:
I live in Delhi, NY, upstate NY in the Catskill Mtns. Very rural, but I can walk just about anywhere. I am divorced with 2 adult children. Love to read, anything from biographies, to Christian literature. I love my church family, and singing. I am loving all my buddies I am connecting with here!


Other Information:
I forgot to say that quilting and music are my passions, as is the Lord Jesus Christ!

    Thanks for the Goodie!

    I read your Sparkpage -- it's great that you are starting!! That is the hardest part I think.

    I just started again (4 weeks ago) after three years of beating myself up. I read somewhere that just changing one or two small habits can be the gateway to changing even more habits. So I decided I would do two things (and two things only for the time being) -- 1) I would walk every morning -- as fast/far as was comfortable and 2) I would drink a tall glass of water before every meal. That was it. If I could do other things -- great -- but I planned on being mindful about just those two things. So far so good. I feel so much better when I move every morning -- and I hadn't done that in forever.
