The Winter 5% Challenge will begin Jan. 11! I'm so ready! These holiday pounds need to come off in a hurry! The challenges are so much fun and they have motivated me to lose so much weight while enjoying myself and making some wonderful new friends!

Winter is not a favorite of mine. The weather here can never decide if it's going to be warm or cool, or even cold. Tomorrow is a prime example. The winds will start out from the NW and it will be in the low 40's. By mid-afternoon, the winds will have shifted to the S and it will warm up to 60! So I will start the day in warm clothes and have to change my shirt by the afternoon. A typical winter day....

For fitness I will be walking on the indoor track at the YMCA, and lifting weights twice a week.

For diet, I will be eating lean meats, lots of vegetables and some fruit, and whole grains. Since it's winter, I will also be making homemade soups. That way I can control the sodium. Everything in moderation is the way I meet food challenges!

Funny but we are thinking same thing about Valentine's day. Cards and flowers r nice but my hubby brings me flowers spur of the moment and that's REALLY nice. Cuz he is feeling it.

If you're concerned at all, return them to the store for a refund. $$ matters and adds up. I wouldn't eat or drink anything that concerns me.

I've been using Sweet 'n Low ever since 1985 when I met Ray. I was more concerned about some of the ingredients in the powders. But I know a lot of people that will not use artificial sweeteners for various reasons. Anything that doesn't affect my allergies is a win for me. So many things affect me negatively, like Soy and Milk.

Check the ingredients on Ensure, real or Equate. Any nutritional drink will help to control calories. Or look for Smoothie recipes.

Or just accept yourself the way you are and keep going. I say, if you're healthy - go for it. Weight is just another number.

Because I am not consuming meats again, I use Collagen powder and a protein supplement in my shakes.

I have Blender Bottles and I put 10oz/300 ml (marked on the side) of coffee into my 28oz bottle, add 2 tsp creamer, 1 TBL Collagen and 1 TBL Protein supplement and shake it up. Then I just add the entire bottle of the shake and mix it again. Sometimes I add 1 TBL sugar-free chocolate syrup.

If you're planning to use the shake as your coffee creamer, you just want to make sure how much you're using daily. I would suggest counting the entire bottle and you can always drink whatever is left after you're through drinking coffee for the day.

My lunch is veggies - but today when I added everything to the pot and cooked it, I realized I forgot the veggies, lol. Basically it is a bowl of Oatmeal with the extras - and lately I cook the veggies with it.

As people recommend, I try supplements, and I find it's easier to just add everything to my cooked oatmeal and I use the kind I have to cook. Last year I made the oatmeal for breakfast and used the shakes for lunch and dinner. This year I am using shakes for breakfast and dinner and the oatmeal for lunch and I add veggies to it. I used to cook the veggies and then add instant potatoes to use up the broth, but I have a lot of oatmeal on hand and tried it and I like it. The honey & cinnamon are the latest additions after seeing a post on FaceBook about how they're so good for you together.

You can eat a regular meal and use the shakes for the other meals. Some people only use one shake a day but I use 2. Tailor it to suit your needs. It still all boils down to calories in vs calories out.
