Like many here, my weight history has been a gain/lose story. Now, I'm not the heaviest I've ever been...but still very far from where I want to be. Much of my weight was gained while on steroids. I have about 100 lbs to lose but would be thrilled with 20. I think that will be my next goal.

I have three forms of autoimmune arthritis which is a very different story from the arthritis most people think of when they hear the word.. I am almost housebound due to it.. spending 99% of the day either in bed or in my power recliner. I've had many surgeries and need many more. So keeping physically active will be difficult. But I'm determined to try to move as much as possible.

I love the Lord Jesus and am active in my church's prayer ministry. Praying is the one thing I can do that doesn't hurt!!! Although I had to give up kneeling. :)

I am grateful for a few Sparkfriends who have stuck by me in friendship even when I'd wandered from SparkPeople. You know who you are and I thank you!!

It's been a long and bumpy ride. I've been a member of Spark People since 2009....initially lost 70 pounds which later after many encounters with IV Steroids, I regained all of the weight I'd lost. Then I tried Dr Fuhrman's method of eating ...and I lost 25 pounds. Then enter more IV steroids and I've regained 10 of the 25 lost. My husband and I felt so much better on the Eat to LIve program ( Dr Fuhrman's book) and we had a very bad lapse in our diet .

Now I'm back to a regular vegetarian diet with very limited dairy....and am once again, tracking on SP. I WILL GET THIS DONE.

My Goals:
To lose 20 lbs.
To find ways to regain some lost strength.
To laugh more.
To help more than I am helped.

My Program:
I will try to make more of my meals rather than resorting to frozen meals ...This is hard because of pain . But If i DO eat frozen, I want to try to stick to the healthy brands ...Those limited portions are helpful.

I will try to drink more water and make the diet soda a rare treat.

I will limit my night time eating. That will probably also help me to sleep better

To try to get adequate sleep.

To blog and to talk to friends in order to be held accountable and also to receive encouragement..

Will attempt some gentle stretching and also some strength work focusing on my core.

Personal Information:
I suffer from a debilitating form of a Rheumatic AutoImmune Disease (PsA)as well as RA and SJ (Sjogrens's Syndrome) and Glaucoma and have had 7 major joint replacement surgeries thus far, with 3 more pending

I love the Lord Jesus and wish to live a life of moderation and restraint.

I hope to begin to simplify my life. Shedding excess things and getting down to what really matters

Other Information:
I'm looking for ways to continue my creative output despite physical limitation.
I have kept a blog since 2009 and have had 200,000 visitors. It is my "opus magnus"

In September,`14 my first book, a memoir, was published--that was a dream for years and now is a reality.

I did it! :) I did the 30 Day Shred today and survived. :) In fact, I'm fine. I am going to do it again tomorrow.

I usually have less pain when it is warmer outside and the sun is shining. I live in Washington state which is notorious for rain and cold, damp weather. So, it is not the place to be for someone that has joint problems. Today, was unusally warm, so I appreciate the days that are warm because I typically have less pain.

Where do you live? Your cat is absolutely gorgeous. I love cats, but my hubby is severely allergic so we don't have any, otherwise, I would have a houseful :)

I am sorry your day was painful today. I can so relate. I hope your pain lessens and tomorrow is a better day!

WooHoo! Congratulations on size 14 from 18! That is awesome!

Thank you for your comment on my feed. I feel great after walking 1 mile with Leslie Sansone at Home. I was totally shocked and could hardly believe that I did it. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my ankles and can barely walk without severe pain and today was almost a pain free day. I am so thankful I was able to do it and I tingled all over! I feel good! I hope I can do it again tomorrow :)

Good job to you! You must feel wonderful!!!

Thanks for adding me at your friend, I added you as mine. I have the same arthritis's as you do. It isn't often that I find someone with the same psoriatic arthritis. Mine has already done some fusing damage at my SI Joint and my upper spine.. Hope you are in better shape than I am. emoticon
