Hello everyone - Updated September 1, 2019

Just touching base. I started on my journey in November 2017 and removed 71 lbs by November 2018 by following Atkins and daily walks 10,000 steps. Over the past year I have been maintaining my weight - not losing. I am satisfied with the fact that I have maintained (and not regained) my weight; however, I am ready for my second phase of weight loss. My goal is to achieve the removal of 40 lbs within the next four months. I will do this by consistency in healthy food choices and activity - walking. I also plan to add strength training to my regimen as well. One of the keys I have found in my success is Awareness. Awareness includes logging my food on a daily basis as well as the 8 cups of water I consume every day. I am so excited and pumped about the next leg of my journey. It feels good to reconnect with the spark people community. I wish you all every success in your healthy endeavours...we can do this!!!

My Goals:
September - remove 10

My Program:
A minimum of 10,000 steps daily
At least 5 hours sleep per night
1500 calories or less per day (ranging between 1100 to 1450 typically)
7-8 glasses of water daily
Awareness - I have a calendar where I record: Steps daily/water consumption/hours slept/calories consumed/calories burned (thank you fitbit!)...oh and my daily weight. I weigh myself every morning. I have found that logging my information daily keeps me aware and this awareness is the primary key to success. Also a silly little thing I do...I give myself a star in my calendar for each daily goal met...each star is coloured and represents a different goal. Yup...just like in grade school. lol. It takes the focus off the number on the scale and plants it squarely on recognizing the steps I took to improve my health. I feel like I have the formula to win :) :).
