Hi! I saw your post on Community Feed & came to visit. There's not much info on your page, but maybe I can offer some encouragement... will try, anyway. I'm 66, and struggled with my. weight since I was 12 or so. Eventually I was over 300 lbs. Much grief, much self-blame, much shame. I was divorced before my daughter was 1 yr. old so all those years I was a single mom, wishing I could be less ugly for her sake. Sometimes I'd lose 20 or 25 lbs., then gain it back plus more... you can see some of that stuff on my page (or 1salmon1) if you want. Here's what helped me: When my girl needed a meal, or clean clothes, or whatever, it didn't matter whether I was motivated to shop & cook, or do laundry - it simply had to be done & I did it. I worked a job I hated - because she needed it. In 2013 when I found SparkPeople & lost about 70 lbs. I applied that reasoning - doesn't matter if I feel like it, I have to do it. I just gritted my teeth. I tracked, and worked out, and ate right whether I felt like it or not. After a while, motivation and energy and delight came in waves, alternating with bleak stuck dry times. But I'd learned not to rely on that emotional push to do what was right for myself, just as I did right for my child whatever my mood. I often wish I could have given her a fit mom when she was little; she's 47 now (REALLY???) but I can keep up with her now; we walk for hours. Motivation comes after. And SELF-ESTEEM comes after. When you look back and see what you did, for yourself, by yourself to change your future and your daughter's future, you will know you are powerful past imagination. You have the power to amaze and delight yourself - you really do! Chose one small thing and (sorry, Nike) Just Do It! I hope this helps - Probably won't, if you're really down on yourself. Wish I could give you a hug...
