I live in Iowa; I knit, spin, weave, sew. If it has fiber I am all over it. Except for quilting and baskets; not enough time in the day.

In the fall of 2016 I decided I was old enough to be a "little, old, blue-haired lady" and had it dyed. Dearly Beloved likes it so it has stayed.

SparkPeople was off my radar for a long, long time. But after finding a new way to go I am using it again. In April 2012 I reached my first goal of losing 60 pounds and have been at maintenance ever since. Which is not quite true. If you talked with my coach I was maintaining. But I gained weight back. Right now I am not 160 but 200. It was four years returning but it returned and now I am working to take it back down without the program I used in 2011-12.

According to BMI and current weight charts (which are totally inaccurate and illogical) I was still counted as obese at 161. But right now I do not feel as good as I could. Sooooo, on the trail to lose what I have gained and perhaps go a bit lower to see how that feels.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to limber up and gain more stamina. The fact that pounds drop off is an added benefit.

My Program:
I have added more walking; taking the stairs going up. It is bumpy going with being consistent with weights.

Personal Information:
Iowa City, Iowa
Enforced retirement in February 2017 which makes me very happy for a number of reasons: 1-more time with DB; 2-able to walk more and not be tied to an office; 3-fibre related things, creating, conferences, etc.; and 4-be outside.

Other Information:
"Make it work" has become a talisman for me. Many times I want to walk away but Tim G's voice in my head will not let me and so I go back into the fray to try and make it work.

Hey there! Thanks for the bloglove and the feedback. It took a deep breath for me to put it out there - because ... well ... just because. LOL

The studio is not finished so right now my 'studio' is the downstairs bathroom - where the light is best. It's also good on the back porch but now I'm set up in the bathroom I don't feel like dismantling things for some intermediate stop. I will be in the studio in July. Right now we're waiting for cut nails to come through the mail - because no building store within 100 miles of me sells them!!!!! Then the flooring can go down - the last of the trim - the lights and HVAC unit hung and interior paint. At that point I can furnish it.

I've found some kit type furniture that I like but DH wants me to look at some office supply outlets first. I think he wants to go shopping and honestly - I am way more interested in the utility of things than in the look of them. They're going to be covered with 'stuff' in a matter of weeks. The point is lots of counters, lots of tables, and lots of drawers - yeah - that's what's needed.

Well - let us hope the website generates SOME business and yet - not too much, eh?

    hugs and thanks
