I've been a member on Sparkpeople for many years. And during that time I have lost and gained back what I lost.
My goal is to get healthier and hopefully live longer because of losing weight. If I make some friends along the way, that would be great too!

My Goals:
To get healthier and hopefully a little stronger, while I slowly lose weight. I hope to keep losing weight until I get down to at least 150 lbs. I also want to get my HbA1c back to a normal range, and to get off of any type of diabetic medication.
My Program:
I am NOT dieting, but learning how to eat better, so that I can become healthier (and hopefully lose a lot of weight and live longer). Although I detest having to track what I eat, I'm back to doing that again. Aiming to keep my daily calorie intake under 1800 and stay within normal carb and sodium limit range.
Personal Information:
I live in Indiana; married; retired. I've had many hobbies over the years, but most recently, I've taken up painting and I LOVE it! I'd rather be painting than anything else.
I have one grown, married, son (and gained a sweet daughter-in-law), and two beautiful little grandsons.
I am totally in love with my two Shih Tzu boys (who now are senior citizens). My grandsons and my dogs add so much joy to my life. I am a Buddhist and vegetarian.
Other Information:
Things I feel VERY strongly about:
SAVING OUR PLANET! Reuse, recycle, conserve and don't eat meat. If you haven't seen Al Gore's movie "The Inconvenient Truth" GO RENT IT NOW!
I believe it is very important to keep religion & religious beliefs out of all aspects, and departments, of our government, including our public schools.
FIGHT ANIMAL CRUELTY!
Join the ASPCA
