"Taking Care of My Body - it's the only place I have to live!"
"I THINK positive,.
Therefore I SPEAK positive;
Therefore I DO positive."
"Tomorrow" starts today!!
2020 - the year of the Coronavirus.
March 9 - I self-isolated.
April 25 - so it's been over a month and no end in sight. My niece picks up groceries for me every two weeks and brings them here. She's been the only person in my apt since March. My children stay away, afraid they may bring the virus to me. ...
"I THINK positive,.
Therefore I SPEAK positive;
To be continued ...
May 16 - having a bad bout of Bronchitis, brought on by fragrances in my apt. I should not have any fragrance in here at all because it triggers the Bronchitis! All my Scentsy stuff plus candles are now packed up and my daughter Sue will pick them up tomorrow. What a sight my hair is, so long and unruly! When I can get it cut again, I'm going for the Gamin pixie style, cut right off!
July 15 - I've had a bad cough for several months, today I had extensive tests done at the hospital and they could not see the cause of it. I also had the test done for the Coronavirus and am okay in that dept, thank goodness. I go to my own doctor on the 28th and he'll figure out what's behind this cough.
July 24 - saw my own doctor and he told me I have COPD. That took the wind out of my sales for a while but then I'm okay with it now. It is what it is. I'm on a new puffer to take for life plus use my other puffer as well.
Aug 4 - The very first time I've gone grocery shopping since March 9th and wow, how different it is now. Store was fairly empty so we did well on my first time out, even went to the license bureau to have my OHIP and handicap sign for vehicle renewed. Lovely day!
Aug 5 - My 85th birthday and my niece Mame took me to the Red Lobster where I had my favourite Escargots for lunch! What a nice way to celebrate!
Sept 8 - Family doctor is sending me to a lung specialist, I have an appt to see him next month. My cough just won't go away and it is a bad one, have had it since February! Something is going on with my lungs, let's hope it isn't serious.
Nov 22, 2020 - I totally forgot to come in here to say the lung specialist said I had gotten some food in my lungs, probably when I laughed & snorted, lol. Anyway, I coughed up a huge piece of mucus in August and he figured whatever was there, came up. Gradually my cough got better & better and is almost gone now.
December 29 - What a horrific year this has been! The Pandemic hit the entire world and we lost so many people in Canada, it's been a sad year. Plus I was plagued by a horrible cough for about 8 months & though I was isolated in my apt from March through July, I didn't sit on my balcony in the summer time because people sitting outside would look up at me sitting & coughing on the 4th floor! Also, my beloved only remaining sister/sibling, has dementia and this year it has been really taking over her brain. Then late November, my niece who takes me grocery shopping all the time, had a fall and has not been able to do that for the rest of this year and perhaps not even in January.
Okay, so 2020 has been a horrific year. Then let's stay optimistic and hopeful and believe that 2021 is going to be our best year in ages!! BE GONE, COVID-19!
2021 - second year of COVID-19
January - not a good month, totally isolated, lock down is a strict one, not to leave homes unless necessary; niece is still laid up with neck pain; no visitors in my apt, this is the worst yet!
January 28 - My niece's neck is much better so she took me out yesterday for the first time since November. How nice it was to get out of my apt and we both did well except I found walking difficult. Today I started back doing my hallway walking, long hallways in my building and I am doing my leg exercises too! Feeling much better today.
February - I swear I have the nicest SP friends. They are upbeat and positive, same as me! :)
February 27 - I am booked to have my COVID vaccine shots on March 8 & 29 and I'm so happy to be getting them! I've had a one week Spark Break because I was feeling overwhelmed by everything and needed a total rest. I'm doing much better now.

My Goals:
Gain a healthier and stronger body
My Program:
2021
To gain a healthier and stronger body, I must eat mostly fruits & veggies, poultry and drink my water! Therefore -
I will buy and eat those healthy foods, limit goodies to a cookie with tea occasionally
Wean off sweets
Do my leg exercises on regular days
Walk my hallways frequently
Personal Information:
I'm a Mom to five grown children, four grown grandsons, three great-grandchildren
I've been married twice - I've learned to enjoy a contented life living on my own.
I like to read, talk to friends & family online, colour in adult colouring books, knit, browse stores, look around in thrift stores, watch movies on TV.
Other Information:
I am deaf and had a Cochlear Implant in 1984 so I am able to hear all sounds but words can be difficult for me to understand at times. People having to wear masks during the COVID-19 makes it impossible for me to know what they're saying because I still rely on reading lips. Telephone conversations don't work well for me. I enjoy a quiet life and if it was possible, I'd live beside a lake.
