I am 59 years old. Now it is time to get healthy and lose weight.

I enjoy taking my dog Chloe to the dog park daily. We love to walk around the neighborhood too.

Although my profile says I joined August 2011, I really didn't start until June 2012.

7/3/14: It's been 2 years since I started on SP. I'm just 4 pounds away from my goal. It took me longer than expected, but at least I'm almost there. Soon I'll have to post a new goal. This time it will be smaller, but probably harder to reach.

This year I started running. Amazing, right? Who would have thought that....

1/27/15: I reached my goal of 50 pounds! Now I've made a new one of 30 more.... We'll see. I run 1 mile 3 times a week now. I'm still amazed... I even ran a 5K on the treadmill the other day. I now want to concentrate on what I eat, not just how much.

My Goals:
I am going to lose 50 pounds in one year. I began on June 1st 2012.

I also want to eat better and get into much better shape.

My Program:
I walk with my dog every day. She doesn't let me miss a day!

I do weight lifting with Kathy Smith's tape 3 times a week. I do "Abs of Steel" by Tamilee Webb 4-5 times a week. They are really helping me get in shape.
I know a lot of people hate strength training but I love doing it. I love the way you can still feel it hours later.

I run 1 mile 3 times a week. I do upper and lower strength training 2-3x a week.

I love how the nutrition tracker helps to keep me in line.

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with my husband of 39 years, my son and my dog.

    Thanks for commenting on my blog. I am super sore today. I did two days of twenty minute circuits and today did arms and abs. I can so see what u mean by feeling the soreness later and it reminding u of what u did. I think my biggest issue with ST is I am a sweat junkie. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes to me when I finish and am covered in sweat. I did sweat with the circuits so I liked that and though not as much today I am still feeling accomplished with my sore muscles.

    I know it is all up to my daughter. I see how long it took for me to get the hang of this and just hate watching her head down that path knowing how hard it is to turn around and come back. Thanks again.

    Thank you for the compliment on my MOM bog.
    I too gained weight when I quit smoking, back in 1992. And food became a cheap addiction. Fought it for 6 years or so, finely giving in till I reached those 335 lb's Now I am 137 lb and more healthy than 20 years ago..
