5% Winter Challenge: This will be my fourth 5% challenge, and I haven't lost an ounce yet. It's not for lack of trying though. Those are the same words I started the last challenge with, and they'll stay until I figure this out. Still not backing down.

This journey is about becoming a better, healthier version of myself (my name is Joy). By adding healthy habits, I have become more energized and engaged in life, and I am finding a greater version of myself. At the same time, I will be en"joy"ing my life in a way I havent in many years. I want to find great joy in the everyday, not get bogged down, but take pleasure in the hectic life I'm privileged to live.

My 5% plan - Nutrition: moving to more vegetarian meals while trying to get enough protien. Balancing my plate better and avoiding refined carbs/sugar as much as possible. More whole foods and less processed. Exercise: I've recently add weight training, so I am trying to mix cardio and resistance in a circuit style of exercise since straight cardio just wasn't cutting it for me.

My Goals:
Look and feel healthy.

Incorporate exercise with the goal of finding a plan I like and will stick with.

Eat healthfully and enjoy it but not obsess over it. Whole foods over processed.

Progress Goals
162 - still working at it.

My Program:
-limit refined sugar and refined carbs
-add more whole foods and fruits
- add more vegetarian meals to my repertoire
- mix of cardio and weight training in a circuit training style workout.

Personal Information:
I'm a mom, a vice-principal, a wife, a sister, a friend and a daughter. All of those are important to me and define me, but not necessarily in any order.

    Hello emoticon A Team!!!

    You know how I do! emoticon

    It’s that time again… we are now boarding and headed to (drum roll)
    the Canadian Rockies. emoticon

    So it’s 6,541 miles to our next destination. emoticon
    If we use our time wisely, (and post what we did ASAP) we can arrive there by Monday. emoticon

    Say we divide our mileage by 2, that give us 3,270.5 miles/minutes per day.
    If we divide that between 40 of us, each one would have to do 82 minutes of exercise… that’s an hour and twenty-two minutes. emoticon

    Can we do this???
    I dare say, “We can!” emoticon

    So get out there and strut your stuff. emoticon
    Or stay in-doors and sweat to the oldies. emoticon
    Just move, Awesome A’s and we will land at our destination in no time! emoticon

    Don’t forget to get in that sleep. emoticon Uh, which I really need to consider doing at this point…. The good news? Every full hour up to 9, counts towards the team points!!!

    I say we go check out the Winter Olympics in Sochi, next!
