Let's Roar! Summer is here and we'll get into this challenge with strength, hope and beauty!

In all the years I have spent here on Spark, I have finally learn one thing : being kind and forgiving to myself is the way to finally lose the weight and keep it off.

Not putting so much pressure to be perfect makes it easier to climb back on the horse.

The trip and the week after have been disastrous weight wise. Gained back a few pounds. Now back to being serious Got to make sure I use fully the summer challenge

And, apparently it is true. So far, the urges to eat sugar or chocolate or other less nutritive foods has lowered a lot. I am still losing slowly but that was the way I wanted to do it.
I feel better and apparently I look better too. So I will continue what I am doing since it seems to be working.

Fitness Minutes: 53,331

My Goals:
I am making small changes. I want to lose pounds and never come back here (here being weighing 275 pounds) So I want those changes to be sustainable.

My main focus now is to think before eating and to read labels. I aim to eat no food with ingredients that are not really recognized by my body as being food. (preservatives, palm oil, sugarlose, fructose, any other ose...) If I want cookies, I have to make them from scratch. out with most of what the food industry is trying to put in my mouth to make me eat more and make their profits grow.

My Program:
- eat as much veggies and fruits as I can in a day
- Make sure I get plenny of protein in my breakfast and lunch
- walk as much as possible (try and improve total distance walked each month)
- keep a positive attitude
- Be kind to myself and not make myself feel guilty
- go to the gym 3 times a week
- I also instated a cash reward program for myself. Cash that I can spend on myself without judgment. No need to ask if I should, if I really need it or if I may have something at home that could do.

When I weight, for 4 consecutive days :
- under 270.......... $40.00 - Done Jan 19th 2019
- under 265.......... $40.00

Personal Information:
I am 55 married with 3 grown girls. Soon to be a grandmother
I am a developper who still goes to school to improve my craft. Will probably have my Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering by the time I am 60. who knows I may go for my Master's! before I'm 70? We'll see...

If anything, I have learned to appreciate what I have and not worry so much about things I can't control.

Other Information:
I like renovating, sewing, music and baking. But right now School is my hobby.
the dresses on the wedding pics where made by me.
It was a big project. 4 dresses, 4 pants and 4 shirts. But it was worth it!

    Today is my 'off day' from food. I know it is not a recommendation for physical reasons, but I think it is very valuable for my spiritual and even motivational self - to fast. After all this food over Easter I just need that foot down.

    It's been a crazy day at work today, so it is actually real easy.

    Uh, I was saying no for a whole while - but these people just would not take that as an answer! However, just writing that all down helped and DH helped getting us out of there as early as possible. He also made sure I had grilled veggies instead of all that meat.

    So, it was not to bad (except for the untidy place - that will have to be done on the go on Monday after work).

    Thank you for your kind words. I am learning the lessons, but sometimes, they are just so darn hard.
