I retired in May and have been trying to get my life in some sort of order. I have been someone successful, although I am still not on a schedule like I want. So, my first goal will be to get organized and (continue) to declutter our house.

I finished a sprint triathlon yesterday (9/12/15) and want to do another one, although I have not found a close one for this fall. My desire is to do an Olympic length tri in the spring, but need lots more training before then. So, my second goal is to tackle more hills on my bike and run more.

I also need to track ALL my food, as this has been an on-going struggle for me.

My Goals:
My goals for fall:

1) bike/swim/run (one or two of these a day) 6 days a week

2) track EVERYTHING that goes into my mouth!

3) Hike 2 times a month

4) spend more time with our grandchildren

5) spend more time with God


My Program:
After next week (taking a week off for my body to recover from the triathlon, although am doing the Wii and walking), I will swim/bike/run 2 days a week, more if I can work it in.

I will eat "clean", getting in the freggies that my body needs.



Personal Information:
I have been married 38 years, am mother of 3 WONDERFUL daughters, grandmother of 7 grandchildren (4 boys, 3 girls). I am a Nurse Practitioner who retired in May. I am starting a new job, 1 day a week, tomorrow.


Other Information:
I love to sew and quilt; I am hoping to reorganize my life to work on some unfinished projects, although I am not sure how that will happen. I love to read, but seem to only get time when I am sitting in a waiting room. I usually carry a book in the car "just in case".

    Hello and thanks so much for the stop-by! I wish WA had buttercups-the only time I've ever seen them is in North Dakote. Maybe I'll try planting some this year! Unfortunately, the green thumb passed me by, but I can always try! You're doing great this challenge! I congratulate you on all your hard work!!     Thanks for the kind words. I wish to walk/jog as a means to being able to hike and camp again. This weekend DW and I went on a hike on the Buffalo River Park to see a particular site. It wasn't a National Park standard trail, I can't recall the appropriate term for this type trail- marked by tags not by trail building. It was a 3.5 mile trail and there were scads of people and their dogs walking it. On our way back we deviated from the marked trail and "explored" looking at caves and waterfalls below the trail. It was a nice challenge but DW does more yoga than walking and worked up a blister, got tired and I believe fearful I would not find the way out without many more miles being added. We returned to the trail and made our way out. I think it would have been easier to walk out as I had planned, but it has been 10 years since I 'trail blazed' and I too was noticing the weight of my backpack. I also wish to jog with my children. All three workout and when they were little we would run together when they would and we did hike together. With my new knees I can walk, hike and jog. My back complains from all of it but as I build up my back and stretch to keep it flexible the discomfort is less distracting. My grandchildren have been on some short hikes on nice trails and they thrill my soul with the discoveries along the way and their excitement about the challenge and being "Leader". At 3,5 and 7, they are surprising.

    Hello from a fellow "Spirit" member-aren't we doing well so far! I love these challenges! I haven't lost anything so far, but it's still been lots of fun!
    I want to thank you for your comment on my "Special Lady" blog, 6 grandkids, Wow! I haven't even gotten one yet and no prospects in the near future! Oh well, guess I have to grow up first! I want to get in better shape for them, too, even though I do want to bake them cookies(maybe I can do healthy ones!) Anyway, have a good one and keep up the good work! emoticon
