Choose weight bearing exercises, especially weight lifting, to keep your bones strong and to prevent bone loss. To improve bone density, the key is to keep your feet on the ground such as walking, running or aerobic dance. The impact of your heel hitting the floor sends a vibration through your skeleton that stimulates cell growth in the bones. Exercise prevents bone loss. This is an issue you need to address whether you are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, or beyond!
