Okay, so from the prompting of my dear friend, and after repeated efforts of trying to do this whole weight loss journey on my own, I am finally going to open myself up to receive the support of others... and I'm going to begin by assembling my sparkpage. :o)

Ever since I was a wee little one, I have struggled to make peace with my body, to love my physical self exactly as it is. But I have come to realize that I can only make positive changes if I begin with a positive mindset.

Exercise is what keeps me sane... really. I tend to let the stress of the day build up inside of me and, for some reason, all I want to do is chew on stuff... like really crunchy cereal (absurd amounts of it!), and eat chocolate in any form.

But last week my boyfriend, who is so extremely supportive of me in my efforts to find peace and balance, bought a pilates DVD hoping that we could use it to ease our stress in a positive way. So we popped the DVD into the computer, put the couch cushions on the hard wood floor for added padding, and began breathing deeply, while performing our first pilates moves. And I realized this was my answer to easing all of my stress and frustrations, not crunchy food and chocolaty treats. Thank goodness for the stress relieving power of exercise!

So I have now begun doing pilates and power yoga in my living room, running, and lifting weights. And you know, it's funny, because now when I eat the crunchy cereal and ice cream, I actually enjoy it 100 times more because I'm beginning from a place of happiness, and not anxiety and stress. So now my goal is to remember to stay active and keep thinking positively, and surely, being happy and healthy will follow!

Fitness Minutes: 125

My Goals:
I will do some sort of activity (running, yoga, pilates, walking, weight lifting, etc.) most days of the week.

I will also eat whole, nutrient rich foods when I am able (because they make me feel A TON better than processed junk).
