Thanks for visiting me! My name is Laura. I am 49 years old and have been married to my very supportive, funny! and loving husband for 21 years. We have two wonderful boys aged 14 and 16. Life is wonderful but also challenging when taking care of a family , working full time and trying to make time for yourself.
I have maintained a loss of about 70 lbs for the last 11 years. I learned how to eat healthy and more from attending Weight Watcher meetings. I have been overweight most of my life and began Weight Watchers when I was about 19 years old. I have gotten close to goal and quit many times in the past. Until after my second child was born in November 1996. Within the next 22 months I lost 81 lbs and reached my goal weight. Unfortunately I have regained some of the weight and am working my way back to goal. I continue to read as much as I can about health, nutrition and exercise. It is a hobby of mine. Being healthy is important to me. I want to be a role model for my children. I want to be around as long as possible for my two boys and my husband. I love to exercise. Made it to Red Belt in Tae Kwon Do, but unfortunately needed to leave.
I have been strength training consistently. I started with Body for Life for a bit and then moved on to Tom Venuto's info in his book The Body Fat Solution. I did Cathe's Lower and Upper Body Pyramid Workouts for about 2 1/2 months. Now I have been into Cathe's STS p[rogram - love any DVD's by Cathe - she is really awesome and works you hard. I also love Step tapes and to do my run/walks at the beach. My favorite place to be!
Exercsing gives me energy, builds my confidence, helps me feel strong, helps me maintain most of my weight loss.

My Goals:
My goals are to focus now on decreasing my body fat percentage and increasing my muscle mass. I am not as focused on weight even though I do want to lose some more. It will come in time.
My Program:
Food wise I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers and follow this program.
I weight lift three times a week and do cardio at least 3 times per week.
I need to be more consistent with some Yoga sessions during the week.
Everyday I walk about 1 mile to and from work after I get off the bus. I try to walk with co-workers at lunch time in Central Park.
