I am a 59 year RN married to best friend these past 40 years. We have 3 fabulous grown children and I want to keep staying healthy to someday see grandchildren. I have been diagnosed with DM for a little over a year and am now off all meds, controlling it with diet, exercise and weight loss and determined to stay that way. I credit SparkPeople and all the wonderful people and friends on this site who have shared their knowledge, advice and support. It will always be a journey but oh, what fabulous people I have met along the way!!! Chaucer, move over!!!

My Goals:
I have pretty much reached my goals of losing weight (90 pounds) and getting off my DM meds so now I have to keep working hard to stay that way. Feeling as good as I do, I now wonder why I didn't do this years ago. But then I wouldn't have met all the wonderful people here on SP.

My Program:
I try to be consistent with my diet and exercise to maintain my weight and keep my BSs under a tight control.

Personal Information:
I live outside Philadelphia PA near the Delaware state line (tax free shopping!) I work as a legal nurse consultant and in my spare time I like to read, crochet, walk and love spending time with my husband, children and friends. I have three grown children, Ashley 28 married and a dentist, Hayley 24 in grad school for an MFA and Alex 21 who lives with hubby and me and works is an autobody repairer. We have two rescue dogs, Indy and Menlo.

Other Information:
My favorite poem is "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. My philosophy of life is the Golden Rule (Treat others as you would wish to be treated) and I try everyday to live by it. I love life and am very happy!!

Sunday: Quiet day. Had a pile of medical bills to reconcile, so got those in order.

It was a nice day so got Jason out in the back yard for some sun therapy! He felt so much better after going outside.

Today is going to be a quiet day again. Both of us are pooped!

    Hugs and blessings.

Saturday: Waffles this morning. Took a short cut and made Hormel microwaveable bacon. Good! Zoom’d w/friends. Things are pretty tense for them (Emt and paramedic). The hospitals are in critical situations. Full. **SIGH** Prayers.

    Hugs and enjoy your Saturday.

Thursday: Nice day yesterday! Sun was out and that’s a bonus! Today is supposed to be a repeat.

Had some bills to pay . . . what fun, huh. But . . . has to be done.

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday.

Dark, dank, rainy, gray and windy day yesterday. HOPE today is a little better.

Jas walked w/o his walker yesterday. Did well! Told him only do that when I am with him!

    Monday: Quiet day yesterday. Grateful!

Will call PT again to see what’s going on. HOPE for appointments this week. But in the meantime, Jas has exercises to do.

It is cold out there! 31, and Miss Lilly is not in favor of that! LOL Was in a hurry to get back into her warm house! ME TOO!

Have a motivated Monday and hugs.
