Hello there! My name is Wanda and I am excited about the changes God has been making in my life! I realized that in this weight loss journey, everything depends on me and my efforts. I choose what I eat, how I eat, when I eat, where I eat. I choose when, where, and how I work out. I have chosen to make a lifestyle change because I decided I wanted to be better, feel better and look better. This is why I go by ITSMYCHOICE. We all have a choice in what we do. Sometimes we get mad at the choices we make and blame it on others... That Was ME! But not anymore. I realize that in order for me to become serious about what I was doing, I would have to F.R.O.G. IT! Yep Fully Rely On GOD. I can't do this battle on my own. I need help from my Creator... after all HE DID CREATE US!

Sometimes we forget that since we are created by God, He would have the manual on this temple of ours. It's only temporary, but God allows us to use it. However, we must remember that we must take care of it. If we don't, bad things happen (i.e. heart failure, diabetes, STDs, etc.) the list goes on and on. God doesn't want this for our bodies. So I CHOSE to do what he requires of me. Unfortunately, because I have been messing things up for years, it is going to take just as much time to fix and replenish all of the things I took from it. This is why I have asked God to Meet Me Halfway. I promised God (never make a promise to Him unless you intend to keep it-God is serious about his covenants :0), that if I He would meet me halfway, I would do my part. This means that even when I am tired, frustrated, depressed, plateauing (not a word), I still have to keep going.

Wow! What a CHOICE! But it is one I am proud to have made.

My Goals:
Since beginning SP on 1 Dec 08, I wanted to lose 50 lbs and get out of the 200lbs category. Praise God! That's done. Now I begin the next goal: Lose 28 lbs. Then I'll be done... i think.

My Program:
I currently exercise 5-6 days a week. I started a program called "Weight Down Workshop" so I will will never diet again and no more overeating! I have a sit down job and am not active at work so I try to find creative ways to keep the blood flowing and the calories burning. I currently get down and 2 sets of pushups twice a day at work.

Personal Information:
I am from Houston, TX, but currently live in San Antonio. I am 35 y/o and have 2 little boys whom I cherish. I am a working mom and I also attend college to become a college professor. I wanted to try something new with SparkPeople. New friends, new choice. Let's see what happens.

Other Information:
I am a young vibrant down-to-earth Christian. I worship God because of who HE is. I try to stay humble in everything. But that doesn't mean I don't fall. Heck, everyday I fall one way or the other. I love God! He is awesome!

Wanda--just had to share my good news with you...yes I did survive my 1/2 wasn't pretty but I did make it to the finish line..I got two for finishing and the other for participating...I thought that was cool..I will always remember my 1st-1/2....My next is in March...the 6th I I got about 4months to's supposed to be a tough one...and they said this one I ran was pretty easy....up and down cont. hills..I'm a flat runner...we don't have hills here...but I goto learn to run them better some how..anyway..the weather was beautiful..thanks for the mentions of nice weather for me..the only thing that slowed me down considerably was the wind...15mph..winds..which were nice on the back but in the face were tough....I got to the turn around in 54min..and it took me another hr. 31 min. to finish after the turnaround...but to me finishing was my goal..and I obtained it thanks to God..I have never been in such pain while running...ever...cramps...pulled muscles...sore toes..sore knees...all at the same time too...I had to focus on my music and prayers to allow me to finish...and He did allow me too...what a feeling of accomplishment...when my wife found out how far I ran..she was beside herself...she thought it was supposed to be another 5k....which I have ran about 15 since the beggining of the yr...and she loved the medals I got...I do think a full marathon will be in my future but farther off now..that I see what a 1/2 does to the body.........thanks for supporting me...and keep on keeping on...Rico emoticon ps..and to make my wkend even better my daughter got her 1st deer....she was sooooo excited...and that made it great to take the time to hunt with her....even though she wanted to go 10 min before she shot she wants hunting cloths for xmas....who would have guessed....

Yes, I'm still losing. I went to a wine dinner last night and ate a little foo foo shee shee food and wine. I gained a pound. No worries though. I took your advice and ran this morning. I'll add it in once a week in addition to my lifting and other cardio. You are right, it's good to mix it up a bit. I keep my HR at about 150 when I normally do cardio and lift, but running gets it up to about 180. Thanks!!

Hey Wanda just wanted to give you a last comment till my big race Sat...which I didn't get much sleep last night..I can imagine how much I'm going to get tonight...I plan on hitting the bed early..and get up early..I've gotten good at getting up early..but it takes going to bed early too...not the old me that would stay up until 11-12pm...I now goto bed at 9-10pm...I'm going to the gym after work tonight..hit my core hard..and try to get pumped for the race tomarrow.....I'll be talking to Carol at some pt..if I can get her on the line..She's such a great motivator..and might push me harder than I might want to push myself..I hope that you are healing well..I'm still dropping my extra wt...I put on from wt. training...hope that it cont. through thanksgiving and xmas...I think that is the hardest part of the yr. for most ppl. that are focused on loosing wt...if I could put myself on a fast during one of these might teach my body that I don't have to eat all the fact I'm seriously thinking about it during xmas..I'll have about 15days off work..and that wouldn't interfere with my job..I'll be praying for an answer...I don't want ME to be the reason for the fast..I want it to be a spiritual time...I bet you feel closer to God than anytime..except just after being saved...and I really don't want others to know I'm fasting..just me and God..but that will be hard to do at home...where everyone watches what everyone else is eating...I am trying the Lemonaide it's great for cleansing the body..take care..and I will chat after the wkend..ok..Rico emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
