I've had some serious health issues that included a tumor in my right hemi-pelvis that severely weakened my pelvis and impeded my ability to be active since before 2000. I just finished immuno/chemo-therapy and am working on losing the weight I've gained while I've been ill.

Things I used to enjoy that I look forward to enjoying again one day soon: hiking, walking, traveling. Things that I enjoy now: painting, reading, gardening, spending time with my husband, cooking.

My Goals:

Well I've certainly gone well with achieving my goal of regaining my ability to walk. I'm now regularly and happily walking an hour a day and enjoying my resistance training. I haven't had any significant pain (beyond the normal aches...) since I started, and as of today I've reached a minor goal of losing 10 kilos by losing 10.2kg (22.5 lbs). I'm so happy.

I'm slowly re-gaining strength in my right leg. I hope to be able to walk for an hour straight without significant pain before or after the walk by the end of August.

My Program:
I'm walking regularly and progressively increasing the intensity and duration of my walks. In addition to this I've modified my eating habits, actually trying to consume more calories in the early part of the day and eating a much lighter evening meal.

Personal Information:
I'm an American citizen who is now a permanent resident of Queensland, Australia. This is a beautiful place to live, and I'm hoping to make the most of being here.
