It's never too late to start again
Hi, my name is Jennifer I have been heavy most of my life and like all of us blames it on everything from metabolism to time crunches and budget, when th truth of the matter is that it was as simple as not knowing how to properly manage my weight. In July of 2007 I weighed myself and was shocked to see 293lbs come up on the scale and cryed....then I got angry and KNEW I had to do something about it. I started reading up on healthier options and going to the gym. Through hard work, determination, and lifestyle changes I was able to lose over 100lbs! I felt great! I met the love of my life.....and then life took a few turns. After a severe back injury at work I stopped going to the gym, I lost faith in myself that I could fight through the pain. We then found out we were unexpectedly expecting and I fell into that "I'm eating for two" mentality :( we unfortunately lost that angel and I fell into a deep depression only to find out 2 months later we were blessed with a second chance! I gained 50 pounds while carrying our son but was determined to lose it. I started slowly doing the Jillian Michaels DVDs while my son happily bounced in his jolly jumper and was able to get back down to 200. And then.......another surprise lol not only were we elated to find out we were again expecting but we were expecting TWINS!!!!!! During this pregnancy I gained 60+ pounds again! I don't blame my pregnancies for my weight gain, it was me. I ate more than I should have and I ate the wrong things. This brings us to today. My oldest daughter is 12 and growing up to be such a beautiful young lady, My son is a healthy energetic 4 1/2 year old and my beautiful twin daughters are 2 1/2 years old and Always on the go. My days are hectic and sometimes I don't even have time to thing straight. But through the amazing support of my man I have started tracking through spark people again and joined (and am going) to the gym lol it's my "quiet time", my solitude, my happy place. I have renewed faith in myself and know I am going to own this! I can say though, these last few years have taught me a very valuable lesson......you cannot simply "diet" and expect changes to stick. You truly do have to make a lifestyle change for a life time! It's hard to start the journey all over again but I will not let that get me down :) Here goes nothing! Here goes everything!
