So yeah, battle of the bulge...for me, has been a life-long struggle. In my adult life, I've been anywhere from 290lbs to 145 lbs and everything in between. I've been on the both ends of the extreme and am tired of always worrying about how I look or what other people think. I work in the medical field and want to lead/live a healthy lifestyle (not just on a temporary basis in order to shed some lbs). Like many others, I've tried all the fad diets, quick gimicks, New Year's resolutions, etc and have come to realize I need a more permanent resolution. After reaching an embarassing 275 lbs last year (yet again), I decided enough was enough and have worked really hard to lose 70 lbs over the past few months, in attempts to regain control of my body. I am thrilled by my progress/accomplishment, but realize I still have another 60-70 lbs to go in order to reach my goal. Having gone through the yo-yo of gaining/losing weight before, I feel like I've reached a plateau and and hope to discover a way to push myself through it. Not to mention learning/refining my habits so I can maintain permanently once I've reached said goal....

My Goals:
My goal is to regain control of my body. To live/maintain a healthy lifestyle in which I can feel happy and confident about myself.


My Program:
Recently I have adopted a hybrid of Weight Watchers and Atkin's diet. Cutting out a lot of carbs, but still watching the amount of calories/fat. Additionally, I have been working out (both cardio and free weight) 3-5 days/week. I signed up for my first 5K at the end of June and am using that as part of my motivation to work so hard both towards weight loss and physical conditioning.



Personal Information:
I'm originally from MT, but moved to the east coast for grad school over four years ago. I took a job in Baltimore right out of school and have been here since.
