I am a retired teacher--taught 1st graders for 35 years. Am now very involved in volunteer projects, mostly throught my church. I love to travel and cruise. Am married (45 years) and have 1 son and 2 grandsons.

September, 2009
I've decided it's time to start over! I am determined to do better and to be successful!
I do get in regular exercise at Curves but I've not been very good with the diet! BUT, I'm not going on a diet, I'm going to work on life changes especially with my eating habits!

August 2018

Four and a half years since I lost my husband. I still talk to him but know one day I will see him. I have discovered that I’m stronger than I ever thought. I continue to travel and have learned I can do things he always did.

June 2014
My life has changed drastically since losing Chuck in January. I am learning I can do things I never thought I could do--like mowing the lawn! Chuck was the one who loved to work outside and I enjoyed what he planted! This year I took the easy way out--I planted artificial flowers! They bloom all year and I never have to worry about watering them!
October 2014
I'm approaching 9 months of being alone. I don't like it but I'm keeping busy. I have gotten back to Curves and I have lost 25 pounds. I WILL SURVIVE!

My Goals:
My goalsare: 1. to get 40 pounds off in order to first improve my health and so I'll feel better and the bonus of looking better! 2. to improve my eating habits. (I LOVE food ~~ especially what is NOT good for me!)

My Program:
I'm doing good with exercise. Have started doing Curves Smart which is a big help to me
Now I really need to work on the food!

The power of choice is one of the greatest gifts we are given in this lifetime. Although we make many choices, every hour of every day, if you stop to think about it very few - almost none - of those choices are actually neutral choices. So for the most part, each choice we make has either a positive or a negative consequence for us on some level - physical, mental, or emotional.

No matter what today’s “it’s not my fault” culture espouses, each of us is individually, wholly, and explicitly responsible for the choices we make. No one else. Therefore it naturally follows that each one of us solely owns the outcome of each choice, and then holding ourselves responsible for our own actions and choices.

Understanding it from this aspect, shifts this word so that it can be viewed and understood from a whole, new, and different perspective - “response-ability”.
Take a moment to ask yourself what was your “response-ability” in each particular choice today? Was it a positive or negative one?

Why not add the goal of strengthening your “response-ability” to the positive column in every choice to your weekly goals, or even your new goals for next month?

Let’s focus on using our gift of choice wisely and positively in every moment.
It's your last week to meet those goals for this month! Finish Strong!

Judy, thanks for all your advice and yes, we did have all that taken care of. It IS important! I have missed you and am so glad you got to Israel. I mean it I could LIVE there!

As for the back surgery not sure what yours is but I had L4 & L5 operated on twice in the 80s best thing I ever had done so don't worry about it you will be so much better. Only reason I had it done twice was because they told me I HAVE TO REMEMBER ALWAYS I HAVE A BAD BACK even though it feels better. I have never had a problem since because I remember that. Keep me double posted on your surgery please. We will be praying for you for sure!!!

More later...I have to go get my new glasses....I haven't seen well for almost a year and I am excited about this!

We will talk more later....may the Lord Bless you in ALL!
    Love,
    Gaye
