My name is Jennifer. I live in Florida with my husband and three children. I'd like to think I am a loving and forgiving person. I value my family and friends above everything with God as my center. I am a work out of home mom, so that I can be there everyday for my children. I chose the name the Justice League because all the members of my family are understanding and supportive of me, plus my family loves the Justice League Superheros. I recently had the SIPS procedure, and I am using Spark People as a means of tracking.

The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Gracious God, help me to recognize the patterns in my life that need to be rearranged and re-oriented towards you so I might be a person with a greater capacity to love. Thank you for your patience with me. Amen.

God, help me to slow down the pace of life as I recognize it is not a race to be won by reaching a final destination. Instead it is a journey with many wonderful, grace-filled detours to take along the way- if I will trust you enough to let you lead me. Amen.

Lord, I have so many thorns in the flesh, I sometimes feel like a pin cushion. Perhaps the greatest thorn is my unwillingness to let you take advantage of my weaknesses by letting you demonstrate your power to overcome them.

"Temptation is painful to us because when we give in, it doesn't hurt us from the outside; it hurts us from the inside. Temptation tries to get our appetites and will to override our deepest values. Temptation will strike where we are most vulnerable... (but) temptation will also come to us where we most need to grow." Ortberg

    I just read this poem & felt it too good not to share on this CHRISTmas Eve! God bless!

    {This is another version of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' }

    'Twas the night before Jesus came
    and all through the house
    Not a creature was praying,
    Not one in the house.
    Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
    In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

    The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
    Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
    And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
    Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

    When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
    I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
    Away to the window I flew like a flash,
    Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

    When what to my wondering eyes should appear
    But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
    With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
    I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!

    The light of His face made me cover my head
    It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
    And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
    I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

    In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
    Was written the name of every saved man.
    He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
    When He said "it's not here" my head hung in shame.

    The people whose names had been written with love
    He gathered to take to His Father above.
    With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
    While all the rest were left standing around.

    I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
    I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
    I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
    Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

    In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
    The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
    There's only one life and when comes the last call
    We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

    (by Reverend Edward M. Gionest, Sr.)

    To those who receive Him, He gives the power to become the sons of God, even to those that believe on his name. Repent and declare with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved.
