Grateful for SparkPeople accountability tools and multitudes of aids in transformation journey to stronger health and energy, less weight.

The turtle makes progress only when he sticks out his neck. SparkPeople helps me stick out my neck in various ways toward needed progress and transformation.

My objective is to be in the best health possible for my golden years, especially to have vim, vigor, and vitality for my last year abroad as a missionary before planned retirement in 2019. I count it a privilege to support Bible translation as a school librarian. I enjoyed three years of service in Yaoundé, Cameroon (not senior friendly). Now I serve at Faith International Academy in Davao City, Philippines, where I also assist with childhood education of families involved in medical missions, church planting, leadership training, street kids ministry and more. Thankful for community outreach opportunities with children.

My Goals:
- Restart weight loss at sensible healthy pace after being cleared June 2018 of breast cancer return (just minor irregularities with heart + two other organs; hiatal hernia/reflux, hip bursitis, and some lactose intolerance).
- Lose 33 pounds now.
- Lower cholesterol naturally via diet and exercise
- Gain flexibility in spite of spinal arthritis and strengthen lower back
- Figure out what a heart healthy, anti-inflammatory, cancer return prevention, anti-reflux diet looks like.
- Decrease hip bursitis pain so I can restart cardio walking.

My Program:
- Daily 6-8 glasses water.
- Minimum 30 minutes recumbent stationary bicycle.
- Daily exercise - strength training and flexibility.

Personal Information:
- Originally from Winchester KY. Spent 32 years in Florida before serving 3 years in Cameroon, now in Philippines.

Other Information:

Many women do not like to tell their age. However sharing that I am 65 is a praise report as neither of my parents reached 55 (Dad passed @ 52 from heart attack; Mom passed at 54 from ovarian cancer). Each day is a gift from God!

Wanting to refocus this Fall? The Biggest Loser Challenge is there for you! We have ten teams that compete with each other in Fitness and Nutrition Challenges designed to promote positive lifestyle changes and, of course, weight loss. There are different challenges each week for the duration of the challenge. Support and encouragement are an important aspect of the smaller individual teams. The larger team also gives you a chance to congratulate and get to know members from other teams. After all we are all in this together and together we are stronger. emoticon To join the challenge you can click on my username and then either click on the Blue Biggest Loser Icon or leave me a message. Thanks for the Goodie and the congratulations for me being engaged! I'm still getting used to the idea. So you've been in the States for awhile and now transferring from Africa to Asia! I retired from Gabon in June 2015. I thought I was getting pretty well settled into retirement life, when I started getting phone calls from a retired Pastor, one who formerly worked in Gabon. Well, that's how I got engaged!!
    Have a good day!!
