Hi, Beth, hope the challenge is getting off to a good start for you! I have a feeling I may just make my 5% goal this round after a couple of rounds of, well, less than success! Good new week! Michelle 1550 days ago

I am now working with a nutritionist and on my prep blood work it identified I was low in iron and my hemoglobin was low. I also had a test to see what my basal metabolic rate was and it was only 1230. The nutritionist told me to not go below 1200 calories and to get my protein between 70-90 grams, which I was low on protein for months. I had to get an iron infusion and two Procrit shots to get healthier before surgery. I also am taking an iron supplement daily. She told me about a protein supplement, Unjury, which I can buy online and it is unflavored as I hate all supplements that I have tried in the past. I know this year is my tine to be successful. My goal is to have a good recovery from my hip replacement, so I can do more exercise and lose weight and not starve myself to do it. Thanks for all of your help with working towards a healthier lifestyle. I found the courage to stand up to my doctor and tell her I needed to see a nutritionist as her advice was not helping me at all. I now know I am on the right path. 1561 days ago
