I walked 3 miles around the lake this morning 💜 I also got to go to the gym three days this week! I always take Sundays off from exercising, then next week is the last week of school so it's always busy but I think I'm going to get to go at least three days next week too! #commited

    I joined Sparks on my 58th birthday, and I'll be 70 this October, so I've been here nearly 12 years, but I joined at a horrible 214#, so I know where you were. I managed to get down to 186# but just got stuck there and couldn't get it off. I finally went to a weight loss clinic and get about 15# off, but gained it back. Two years ago I saw the Navy doctor and asked to get on Metformin, since I had read "The Diabetes solution" by Richard Bernstein M.D. He said "You can't expect at your AGE to lose any weight now, since you have Metabolic Syndrome." I asked to have a blood sugar test and he said okay, then the next afternoon he called me to say my B.S. was 115 and diabetes started at 126, so I didn't need to be on Metformin. So, that was that. Then I heard about an anti-aging doctor who was 74 and I went to see him. He said "He's right diabetes starts at 126, but read the Metformin insert." It said "If you might become a T2D, you can start the medicine now" He said "You are close enough." He put me on Metformin, a weekly shot of Bydureon, Acarbose with meals, Progesterone, K-Koncentrate, Baclofen (to relax my muscles so I sleep better), a blood pressure medication (he says to stay on it, so it protects my kidneys), and amour thyroid (he says no one over 30 has the thyroid they did at 20.) Vitamin C and Calcium.
    I dropped 43# and I have kept it off for over 2 yrs now. I dropped 20# the first month since I had a lot of swelling. I still want to get off another 20# and I'm working on that now.
    Do find a good doctor to help you. Oh, my blood sugar is a 100 now, and I no longer have any cravings.

    The flowers and blossoms are filling the air with the smells of Spring. This is the time to start preparing for the Summer. Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of June. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges. These challenges can be modified to fit individual needs, allowing members of all abilities and dietary needs to participate.

    My husband just made the crust with ground turkey instead of bread. You can Google turkey or chicken pizza crust....its so easy!😋
