I have been gone for probably about a year. It is funny to return and see all the great upgrades and changes to the site. This is still the best resource around. I have been out there living life and ended up not being able to maintain my Sparkpeople daily focus.
Now I want to start back but focus on balance.

Things that make me who I am:
I am an insulin dependent diabetic, a single Mom - actually single by design, I had my son Joaquin on my own. He just turned 22 and is a senior at NAU. He is what I have focused on most since he was born. I am now learning to focus on me. Being his Mom has made me a better person. I learned the

Iam also a social worker, counselor, certified coach, trainer and HR professional. I lam fortunate to get to do what I do best everydayu. I have been in my position 20 years and must be vigiliant to stay current. I am studying for my SPHR and WILL have that by the end of the year.

I discovered first Sparkpeople in March 2009, and came here to manage my emotional eating once and for all. The things I love about Sparkpeople are:
Tools for tracking - in particular
nutrition - eating plan, menus, recipes
fitness - creating workouts and noting progress
information on eating, exercise, polls, surveys, message boards, teams of people with like interest.
SUPPORT of wonderful people.

I lost focus for awhile but need to be BACK, so restarted on September 25, 2011.

Fitness Minutes: 37,199

My Goals:
Manage food intake for HEALTH.

Get enough rest so that I don't eat to stay awake.
Reach weight loss goal by 57th birthday.

Successfully attend events with food without overeating.


My Program:
Restarting 9/2011 - following full program at Scottsdale Weight Loss and resuming workouts daily. Workout 6 days a week, 3 cardio, 3 cardio/weights.

Eating balanced diet of 1112 to 1352 calories a day.

Develop strategies (that work) for high risk situations.

Journaling to get intouch with unresolved feelings and emotions.

Get 7-8 hours of sleep a night.



Personal Information:
I am from Philadelphia, PA, raised in Malvern, lived in California for many years, now live in Arizona. I have a son in college and I have always been single,


Other Information:
I am an insulin dependent diabetic so must be structured in my eating habits.

I can enjoy exercise but for now I am starting over. One step at a time.

This is what I need to lose weight.

    Hello KLBRZE,
    It's so nice to see you with us in EE and in my thread there, "Goodbye Light Time Eating." Remember what SparkPeople says, it doesn't matter when you eat your allowed calories, carbs, fat & protein, just as long as you don't go over what they recommend for you. If after dinner is the time when you feel you need something to eat, (even if it is from boredom), then save some of your allowed food for then. Good luck, glad you joined our challenge.
