Hello Everyone! I've been a Spark member since late March 2006, and it has made a big difference in my life. I really needed to do this, but wanted to do it on my terms, and Spark lets me do just that!

Gradually I regained all the weight, and then some. In 2017 I tried eating the foods specifically beneficial to my personal health, and that made a big difference. I felt great, and lost a bit of weight, but didn't really track anything. And due to work-related stress I didn't stick with it.

Now I'm retired, and in 2018 there was a stressful family event that caused me to lose about 10 pounds rather quickly. That was the boost I needed to get moving again. I'm almost halfway to my longterm goal, and feeling great!

My Goals:
My goals are to lose 110 pounds, feel better physically and mentally, and to maintain a healthier lifestyle. That was from 2006. My short term goal is to lose 20 more pounds by November 2019.


My Program:
I''m trying to do some kind of exercise every day, eat healthier foods, and give up the old habits that made me put on the pounds. I''m drinking a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day. However, I''m not going to substitute real food with plastic non-fat, fake-sugar sweetened food if I can at all help it.



Personal Information:
I''m from Trempealeau, Wisconsin, which is right on the Mississippi River in Western Wisconsin.


Other Information:
I love to knit, weave, spin, and basically do all kinds of needlework. I have three cats, Rusty, Rollie, and Lilly, who are the best companions! I also like to read, garden, explore the countryside, and collect whatever strikes my fancy. This is also from 2006 or maybe 2008. Lily and Rusty are both gone now, and Rollie is a senior at 14. Gracie is the newest addition to the family.

    emoticon You have been here before me as I joined in 10-07, I was a horrible 214# but then I'm 70 now and I'm at 135# thanks to finally finding a doctor who understands Metabolic Syndrome and he put me on Metformin, a weekly shot of Bydureon and other medications so I stopped eating at 3 a.m. and ruining my food plan. Just keep going. Belly fat is so harmful.
